Spring Awakening

March 30, 2011

I have some exciting news!  Recently, I was generously gifted a Canon 30D, my first DSLR camera.  As winter transitioned into spring around me, I set out with my new favorite possession to shoot a nearby cherry blossom tree that had just bloomed.  Many years ago I was fortunate enough to visit Tokyo during Sakura.  It was a travel experience that I will never, ever forget.  In tribute of the recent events in Japan, I dedicate the following photos to its brave citizens.  Please feel free to save these photos onto your computer and to use them as desktop wallpaper.

Break open a cherry tree and there are no flowers, but the spring breeze brings forth myriad blossoms.

Beautiful sentiment, GORGEOUS photos! What does a girl have to do to be GIFTED a Canon 30D? Me and my Canon Rebel do some pretty good work but you make me want to upgrade like nobody’s business!

    Dearest Andi,

Cherry blossoms remind me of my first “adult” year. I had graduated from college and had moved to Washington, DC. Cherry blossoms are so cherished that meteorologists and gardeners predict the exact time the trees will bloom so that throngs of tourists and DC residents can behold their beauty.

Your photos have awakened beloved memories and have filled my day with beauty. I am so excited you were gifted that camera and cannot wait to see the beautiful adventures on which it will undoubtedly escort you. Until then, thank you for the stunning floral trip!

      Dearest Roxanne!

Haha, I don’t think I’ve ever had a comment before that started off that formally, I love it!!! I’m so happy that my post was able to remind you of such a beautiful time in your life. It’s great when that happens and unexpectedly. I’ve visited the cherry blossoms in DC before and they were breathtaking; a sea of pink everywhere! Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your sweet words. My first trip with my new toy will be to Miami and Key Largo next week. My heart is already beating faster in anticipation of all of the photos I will be taking!!!

      Big hugs,
      Andi

Awww that’s a shame that your city is not blessed with the cherry blossoms! I guess that just means you need to always travel in April. Thanks so much for your sweet words and enthusiasm!!! 🙂

Beautiful shots! These give me hope that spring is right around the corner for the northeast, despite the looming snow storm that is suppose to hit after midnight.
