My Wedding & Honeymoon: Day 6-10 (Part 10)

October 3, 2011

Finally, after 6 years of an incredibly long-distance romance, Karen and Seba made the pronouncement that we were officially married,

Lucas and Andrea, by the great love that has brought you here today and by the vows you have exchanged in the company of family and friends, it is my honor and absolute delight, that I now pronounce you husband and wife.  You may kiss to seal the commitment you have just made.

It was the best kiss of my life.

Halfway through our recession down the aisle, with Sous Le Dome Epais playing in the background and rose petals being thrown in the air, my husband stopped and gave me yet another kiss.  In case you were wondering, my breath was completely taken away in that moment.

We headed to a private room in Faena Hotel + Universe to get ready for our first champagne toast as a married couple.  I love the photos that Kyle captured of us when we had no idea that the camera was even on us.

We kept repeating to each other, “Ay Dios mio, we are married!”  And while we truly enjoyed those five blissful minutes to ourselves, we were also ready to get the party started with some bubbly.

I, of course, had to take a quick second to show off the rings.

After countless hugs and kisses, it was time for the toast.  Our guests looked absolutely gorgeous, did they not?

Which is your favorite photo?

We have what would be the BEST picture of that kiss except that it’s blurry! That’s Rodolfo’s hand on the right of the mid-aisle kiss picture, so you can see we had front-row seats 🙂 I can’t remember if I’ve sent it to you, but if not I’ll do so soon.

This whole series has been absolutely beautiful. Its wonderful to see a wedding that appears to so completely represents the couple involved. And, may I also say, Kyle is the most astounding photographer. If I get married I may have to consider flying her halfway round the world to be my photographer!

Thank you so much for this comment! I was afraid maybe the series was dragging out a bit haha. I’m beyond touched that you’ve enjoyed it as much as have! I’m I totally support you flying Kyle to wherever you eventually get married — that’s what I was planning to do! Luckily it ended up being just a one hour flight for her. XO

What a great idea! I’ll have to look for the perfect frame for it. I somehow missed that shot when I 1st looked through my wedding pics months ago, so it was a joy to find it last week! Thanks a ton for your kind words. XO
