Turks And Caicos: Day 2

June 4, 2013

One of the greatest things about having found my soulmate is that I have finally achieved pure contentment.  Never in my life have I felt content and when I awoke on our second anniversary the feeling was overwhelming.   I have always wanted to better myself, so I studied longer, worked harder, traveled further, and yet still desired more.  Then I found Lucas and for once in my life I no longer needed more — I just want him and whatever blessings should come our way in the future will be icing on the cake!

We began our anniversary with a poolside breakfast at Luna Sea Pool Bar & Grill, where we indulged in delicious lattes and an even more delicious banana bread french toast with banana fritters.

Since we had spent the previous day alternating between the Somerset’s two pools, we decided to spend the entire afternoon on Grace Bay Beach.

This twelve mile long beach on Providenciales is widely acclaimed as one of the most beautiful in the world.  I consider myself a bit of a beach snob, since being near the ocean is my favorite place in the world, and I completely agree with its esteemed reputation.  The water is an indescribable color of blue that truly takes your breath away!  Guests can enjoy food and drink service, chaise lounge chairs, umbrellas and an array of water sports and activities, many of which are complimentary.

After a couple of celebratory rum punches, it was time for a dip in the inviting water, which was the perfect temperature.

After hours of fun, we needed something to replenish our energy, thus we headed back to the same place we had breakfast for a quick lunch of coconut shrimp and of course some more rum punch.

Then it was time to get ready for a special evening that the resort planned for us: a private dinner on the beach at sunset to celebrate our anniversary.  For this memorable experience, we would be dining with our toes in the sand surrounded by the warm glow of tiki torches while dedicated wait staff delivered each course.

Between the outrageously gorgeous sunset and the exceptional service and food, we felt both incredibly lucky and spoiled.  The Somerset on Grace Bay definitely made sure that it was yet another romantic anniversary we would never forget!

Wow, what an incredible vacation it looks like you two had! And congrats on two years :0 Providenciales looks like it has a top beach for sure (and that says a lot coming from someone who lives at a gorgeous Caribbean beach!)

Is it too much when I’m saying that reading your blog always brings me a feeling of happiness and contentment? Not just because the places you go to are so beautiful, but also because of the words you use to describe your own feelings at those places. I think there’s nothing as precious as to be truly at peace with oneself – and it is obvious through your words that you are! I sometimes struggle with it, but your words remind me to be thankful for all the blessings I have in my life and make me really look up!

    Much love,
    Melanie

You have no idea how much your comment means to me, thank you so much! I have always struggled with finding peace and contentment. I blame it on being a Leo haha! I hope you can find it one day yourself. It feels amazing to not NEED more. Of course I want more, but I don’t need it. 🙂 Much love back!

Congratulations on your anniversary! I cannot BELIEVE it’s been two years already. Seems like we were just at your wedding in BsAs. I’m sitting at Abby’s house right now and I can’t wait to see you and John and Andrea in Miami at the end of this month. I feel like so many lasting friendships were formed at that wedding. You two are such special people, Andi.
