First Impression

Even though I have spent more years living in Charlotte, North Carolina than anywhere else in the world, my hometown still surprises me from time to time! One of the most recent surprises was my stay at Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark Hotel. Although it is only five minutes from my home, I had yet to visit it before. This luxury hotel surpassed all of my expectations and in my opinion is in the premiere location if visiting the Queen City. Charlotte has some of the best shopping found in the Southeast and this property puts you in the very heart of it. Location

Charlotte, the largest city in North Carolina, is also quickly becoming one of the largest cities in the United States. Too keep up with its growth, it is now shopper’s paradise with department stores, shopping malls, specialty stores, and bargain outlets. The AAA-rated Four Diamond Renaissance SouthPark Hotel is located in the affluent SouthPark neighborhood, just a few minutes south of uptown and directly across the street from SouthPark Mall, which features Nordstrom, Belk, Dillard’s, Macy’s, and Neiman Marcus, as well as many high-end luxury shops. It is the perfect home base before heading off on the thrill of the hunt!

The Room

Rooms are sophisticated, contemporary, and inviting. My husband and I stayed in the Executive Suite and thoroughly enjoyed how spacious it is. Even though the hotel generally attracts a business crowd, the lavish accommodations boast distinctive amenities that offer an incredible blend of both productivity and relaxation. Our classically styled suite features a King sized bed, flat screen TV, sitting area, and a balcony. The plush mattresses, comforter, and pillows made for an amazing night’s sleep.

The Bathroom

Our ensuite bathroom was big enough that it had two separate showers and a bathtub. Luxury accommodations deserve luxury bath products and the Renaissance Charlotte SouthPark Hotel did not disappoint with their collection of Aveda products.

The Extras

This hotel comes with two outstanding restaurants: Flagstones Southern Bistro and The Bar at Flagstones, plus an indoor saltwater pool and fitness center. Its lobby is also a work of art that you will definitely want to spend some time wandering around in.

Guests are usually welcomed at reception with a complimentary delicious treat and an adult beverage. The day we arrived, we were presented with gourmet cupcakes and white wine. I could not think of a better way to begin a trip!
