Review: Reed’s Ginger Products

June 8, 2015

I usually never talk about Chinese Medicine on My Beautiful Adventures, however it would be impossible for me not to in my review of Reed’s ginger products, as ginger is one of the most important Chinese herbs that an Acupuncturist can prescribe to a patient. We refer to it as gan jiang and once it is dried, it can be used for cooking or medicinal purposes. Traditional Chinese Medicine believes that ginger “restores devastated yang” and “expels cold” (in layman’s terms: the herb warms up your insides). Is most commonly used around the world for digestive issues, which is especially helpful as summer approaches and travel becomes even more popular, since with travel the symptoms of motion sickness can ruin any perfectly planned cruise, flight, or car ride. However, thanks to Reed’s ginger products, travel sickness is a thing of the past! This year, prepare ahead for your travels and pack a few of these ginger-packed treats — proven to help with nausea and dizziness caused by repeated motion.

Reed’s was founded in 1989 by Chris Reed. His research into the history of sodas found soft drink recipes from before the beginning of the modern soft drinks industry. People used to brew their own beverages. They did not make them the way modern commercial soft drinks are made, even the so-called “natural” ones. They brewed them in their kitchens; directly from roots, spices, and fruits. These early soft drinks, besides being natural and delicious, were also healthy. Many people used them as herbal tonics.

Each batch of Reed’s Ginger Brew is a throwback to these hand crafted brewed sodas and are made with pride. They are carefully brewed and aged like fine wine in small batches by expert brewmasters. Only the finest ingredients are used. You will never find sugar, preservatives, or any artificial flavors in the brew. The brew also boasts 17 grams of fresh ginger root per bottle and tastes delectable poured over ice.

Another fantastic option are Reed’s Ginger Chews, which contain real ginger root wrapped as a candy for a quick pop-in-your-mouth solution on the go. I keep these in my purse at all times.

Finally, Reed’s Crystallized Ginger is made with fresh ginger root, raw cane sugar, and nothing else. It crystallizes into soft nuggets that make it the ultimate travel snack.

There is no need to let motion sickness curtail your travel plans! These award-winning, top-selling products are found internationally in gourmet and natural food stores. Reed’s passion for ginger comes from its incredible flavor and health giving properties. Make sure to include some of these ginger products on your packing list for your next trip.
