Manly Beach — Home To Surf And Skating

June 9, 2017

If you have never been to Manly Beach, then you are missing out. Many people who visit Sydney do not have enough time to explore all of the fabulous local beaches. Due to time restrictions, they may opt to have a day at the famous Bondi Beach and miss out on the beauty and excitement that is just a short ferry trip away from the center of Sydney.

Manly Beach is a real favorite with surfers and skateboarders, and when you head to the beach, you are pretty much guaranteed to see some highly skilled surfers amongst the waves. There is also an excellent skate bowl, which hosted the Vans Pro Skate Park Series in conjunction with the Australian Open of Surfing.

Australia is known for their outdoor sports and with good reason. The weather is usually bright and warm; therefore, skateboarding, surfing, scuba diving, and exercising outside is the norm. Whether you are a novice or pro, scooters, skateboards, longboards, and roller skates will awaken the Aussie in you. From cruisers and skateboards to aggressive skates and specialized stunt scooters from leading brand Grit Scooters, Skates.co.uk can provide you with professional and novice skating/scootering equipment. All you need is the long beach hair and laidback attitude.

Another great reason to visit Manly is that you can take the ferry and see Sydney Harbour from the water, which most would say is the best way to appreciate the world renowned landmark fully. The ferry ride is a short journey from the main harbour and when you get there, you will might be surprised at what you will find. Along the harbour are a number of great bars and restaurants overlooking the sea, where you will usually find paddleboarders and kayakers. Also, there is a chance to see dolphins that swim, jump, and dive alongside the ferries.

Walk a bit further and you will hit a busy area of high street shops and cafes, which are quirky and offer many different cuisines. However, like the hub of Manly Beach, you should note that in peak seasons, it may be difficult to find a spare patch of sand or a table at a recommended restaurant. The perk of Australia as a whole though is there is never a shortage of beaches.

The area can get pretty hectic, so if you are looking for a more peaceful experience, the coastal walk is perfect to take in the great views and there are more stunning beaches along the way. A popular way to explore Manly is to hire a bike and go along the routes up and down the coast. If you are traveling with kids, a scooter is a better option to rent than a bike. Make sure to look for the best kid scooters, as your children deserve the safest model available. There are plenty of pleasant bars and cafes to stop at along your journey and throughout the year there are all kinds of festivals and other fantastic events going on. Remember to pack plenty of water, sunscreen, and appropriate first aid kits.

At the weekend, the markets bring even more visitors to the area, and it is a great experience to browse the unique stalls and sample some of the street food on offer. Therefore, if you are heading to Sydney anytime soon, do not miss out on Manly Beach — an unforgettable haven of beaches, surf, and delicious food!
