There is no denying that it is one of the most diverse countries in the world filled with fantastic nature and endless attractions. Most tourists have a dream about visiting the USA at least once in their lifetime. If you are traveling to the US for the first time, then there are certain things that you need to keep in mind definitely:

Your visa, ID, and passport

Ensure that you have all your documents in order before you plan your trip to the US. Apply for the visa at the nearest U.S Embassy and keep all your documents ready and in a safe place. Keep your passport, tickets, insurances, and ID with you. Get your ESTA application completed now!

Get travel and medical insurance

Make sure that you are covered under a suitable travel and medical insurance plan. In the USA, you cannot buy medicine without a prescription, and it is not easy to consult a doctor without registering yourself with the hospital before. It is a good idea to pack the essential medications along.

Pack accordingly and as per the weight

Consider the weather and the duration of your trip and pack accordingly. Check out the luggage weight and luggage rules as they can vary with different flights. The USA is a vast country with many time zones. For example, if you are in California, you will not have much winter, but if you are going to Washington, you can experience a severe winter.

Have contacts of some friends

Get the contact numbers of family or friends who live close to your area. Stay in touch with them and talk to them to get over the wave of homesickness. Talking to people from your home country will make you feel at home and more confident.

Get the basic kitchen appliances

If your trip is going to be longer, then it is better to pack some necessary kitchen appliances with you. You will save the bother of buying the same appliance at a much higher rate and can cook Indian meals at home and whenever you want.  Visiting Indian restaurants all the time can be expensive.

Always be polite and patient

When in the US, expect people to smile and use good and polite words. Learn to be patient as you are expected to stay in queues and wait for your turn. You might have to wait at the shopping stores or popular eating joints. Hold the door for people and greet the people back when they greet you. Americans are used to tourists and will smile a lot. So, smile back!

Relax. Just be yourself and feel excited about the thought of flying to the USA for the first time. After all, not everybody gets the chance to visit the USA. So, enjoy your trip to the maximum!
