These 8 Workout Tips Will Help You Get Fit Fast

March 12, 2019

Did you know that less than five percent of adults in the U.S. participate in the recommended 30 minutes of physical activity per day? Additionally, only one and three adults receive the recommended amount of physical activity every week.

With this information, it’s no surprise that obesity has become an epidemic in this country!

However, if you have made the commitment to get fit and want to make the most of your efforts, then having a few workout tips to help along the way can be beneficial. Keep reading to learn what these tips are.

Coffee Before Sweat

The caffeine found in your pre-workout cup of coffee can help to stimulate your central nervous system. This is going to give you a bit more oomph during your morning step or cycling class.

Also, while performance boost is a huge benefit, research has shown drinking coffee prior to working out can actually make your exercise more enjoyable. If you are enjoying what you are doing, you are going to push harder and work longer.

It’s a good idea to drink your coffee at least 30 minutes before you start sweating. This is going to give the caffeine time to kick in.

Eat Enough

If you are really dedicated to getting fit quickly, you have to maintain a healthy weight. However, if you need to lose some weight, trying to do this too fast isn’t going to do much good. If you restrict your caloric intake too much, then you may actually stall your weight by slowing down your metabolism.

It’s important to find the right number of calories if you want to lose half a pound to two pounds a week. The best way to do this is by reducing your current calorie intake by 250 to 1,000 calories per day.

Follow The Right Exercise Routine

While everyone is going to have a different opinion about the best exercises to get fit fast, it is a good idea to use a combination of the following types of exercises. These include:

Strength Training

It’s important to include strength training in your workout routine Even just 20 minutes per day, two times a week are going to help you tone your body.

Don’t worry though. This isn’t going to cause you to “bulk” up if you don’t want to.

Interval Training

In the most basic form, interval training could involve walking for a few minutes and then running. Try to alternate this pattern throughout the duration of your workout.

This is an extremely productive and time-efficient way to exercise.

Increased Aerobic/Cardio Exercise

It’s a good idea to accumulate 60 minutes, or more, each ay to low- to moderate-intensity physical activity. This can include anything from dancing, running, and walking.

Limit Your Processed Foods

While what you eat is important, you also need to know what you shouldn’t eat when you are trying to get fit. There are certain types of foods that are directly linked to weight gain, such as juice, soda, potato chips, and processed meats.

If you want to improve your fitness level and reach your goals faster, then you need to limit other processed foods too. These include fast food, sweets, pasta, and white bread.

Use The Buddy System

If you want to stay committed to your fitness goals, it’s a good idea to find someone to do it with you. When you have a buddy, you can encourage each other.

Not only can you exercise together, but you also get to enjoy one another’s company.

Exercise At The Right Time

Make sure you listen to your body clock. Work out during the times of day when you have the most energy.

If you consider yourself a morning person, then schedule your fitness activities earlier in the day. If you perk up as the day passes, plan your activities for the evening or afternoon.

If you workout when you have the most energy, you are going to get the best results.

Be Patient

It’s impotent to remember that you have to be patient. While following the tips here are going to help you succeed, they aren’t a magic cure.

You are going to experience ups and downs as well as victories and setbacks – don’t get discouraged. If you are persistent, you are going to see results.

Give Yourself Time To Recover

When you are working out, you have to give yourself time to recover. That is why it is a good idea to alternate days you strength train versus aerobic exercises. Try recovery and pain-relief products, like this gel, to help soothe muscle soreness or a myriad of body aches after physical activity. While sore muscles may be part of working out, you have options to manage the “painful” aspects of exercise and carry on with your fitness journey.

You can also get massages, soak in a hot tub and even use compression socks to help you recover faster. If you wonder what do compression socks do, we have the answer.

Workout Tips That Work

The key to getting fit fast is to stay consistent. Even if you skip a day of exercise, or eat a lot of cake, don’t give up. As long as you are persistent and use the workout tips here, you will begin to see the results you want.

Remember, getting fit isn’t a race. If you aren’t fit now, there’s a good chance it’s going to take you some time to see results. If you get discouraged, you are never going to achieve your goals.
