The flavored, colored, and smoke-free appeal of e-cigarettes has increased the demand for vaping. Before you decide to go the vaping way, you should learn as much as you can about it.

We have compiled some information about vaping and the effects of vaping. Keep on reading to learn more:

What Is Vaping?

Vaping has not been embraced as it should. In the wake of popular vices, it is still a new concept. There are not regulations or rules firmly in place about vaping.

There also is not much discussion about the cultural, social, and public health effects of vaping.

Vaping works a little differently from smoking and is also a little more complicated. The process entails converting some volatile liquid into vapor. The users can make it as easy or as complex as they want it to be.

Many e-cigarettes come with an LED light that aesthetically stimulates the burning end. Around the middle of the cigarettes are bells and whistles. They let the user control how much vapor they want to get from the device.

The second level of the process entails the “smoke.” The vapor contains glycerin that produces the clouds of steam. It also has propylene glycol that binds the flavor.

The other ingredient is nicotine, obtained as a pharmaceutical-grade concentrate.

History Of Vaping For Smoking Cessation

The intention of the development of vaping devices was to help people stop smoking. The first vape was developed by a pharmacist who was tired of the failure rates of nicotine patches. He had used them for long to try to stop smoking to no avail.

He realized that he could emulate the act of smoking without exposure to harmful carcinogens from cigarettes. This would help him stop smoking conventional cigarettes. He experiments with the contents of the e-cigarette for several years.

He aimed to miniaturize the whole concept to make it look more like smoking. Later, he patented his design, and the inventions got their way to the market in China. Then, they became common in America.

It became a viable business in the US, especially when Ney York banned outdoor smoking. Public spaces like theatres, bars, and restaurants had been off-limits for a while. Workplaces and apartment buildings had banned indoor smoking.

As smokers began to feel the effects of the ban, the path forward for vaping was opening up. The way it was marketed was explicitly as a smoking cessation aid. Users were convinced that the products would help them get off cigarettes and nicotine if they want to.

The introduction of the product is a good thing if it can help people stop smoking. It would economically be good for America since the country spends approximately $100 billion in healthcare annually. Every smoker who stops the habit would provide a gain to the economy.

The Effects Of Vaping

Seven out of 10 smokers say they want to quick tobacco smoking. As usual, most of them are advised to use vaping as a way to quitting smoking. But what are the possible effects of vaping?

Is vaping better than using tobacco products and can it help you stop smoking completely? Whether or not It is useful in that area, here are some expected effects of vaping:

1. Vaping is less harmful than traditional smoking

Regular cigarettes contain tobacco and thousands of over toxic chemicals. E-cigarettes, also known as “vape mods” contain fewer chemicals. The main ingredient is nicotine, which comes in flavored varieties.

Vape mods come as battery-powered devices like Suorin Drop Pods. The liquid contains nicotine and other chemicals like glycerine and propylene glycol. The flavorings range from watermelon to bubblegum.

Once the liquid heats up, it converts into a vapor that the user can inhale. The user feels the effects of vaping without exposure to any smoke. A professor of medicine, Stanton Glantz, confirms that a puff on vape mod is less harmful that one from a conventional cigarette.

The practice has not been around for long; hence the long-term effects are yet to be established. Much of the effects are a mixture of circumstantial and anecdotal evidence. It is also subjective to conjecture and opinions.

2. Electronic cigarettes are addictive

E-cigarettes are a better alternative to conventional cigarette sticks. However, both types contain nicotine, which can be highly addictive if consumed in large quantities for long. Vaping allows you to increase the concentration of nicotine to get a higher hit of the substance.

In your attempt to quit smoking, you might end up smoking for longer. Some users end up becoming dual smokers, meaning they smoke regular cigarettes while still vaping.

The good thing with vaping is that you can control the concentration of nicotine in its liquid form. By doing so, you will reduce the effects of vaping on reproductive health, blood vessels, and heart disease. This explains why there are some schools of thought that the devices are a safer step down from smoking.

When used in small amounts, the other chemicals from the inhaled vapor may not reach the lungs. The propylene glycol component may irritate the eyes and airways. You should be careful to use only quantities that won’t cause damage.

3. Effects of vaping on health

Despite the many arguments about the adverse effects of vaping on health, there is a good side to it. Have you tried to eliminate the bad odor of conventional cigarettes without success? Vape mods come with the advantage of helping get rid of the bad odor

The smoke is very potent and remains persistent in your breath and lungs. The chemicals that make up the smoke interfere with your health and age the skin. They also damage the lungs and stain your fingers.

As the tar and nicotine in cigarettes burn, the smoke clings to everything, leaving a pungent smell. Unlike the traditional cigarettes that operate through burning, vape mods function with vapors. After you have inhaled the vapor, there is very little smell left, close to none.

The vapors quickly dissipate into the air, leaving no odor behind. Besides, the fumes are scented, and hence the trail they leave behind, if any, is not foul.

Cigarette smoke also causes stains on teeth and turns the skin yellow. These are results you never have to deal with when using vape mods.

4. Vaping is not exclusively for smokers trying to quit the habit

As the vape mods become popular, their use is extending beyond the scope of smokers. For example, as earlier mentioned, teenagers are taking up the habit. Research shows that e-cigs are linked to advancement from experimental smoking to established smoking.

The increase in the number of teenage usage of the products is on the rise. This is amidst efforts by researchers to establish the effects of vaping on their young brain. Children who vape may experience respiratory problems and take off more days from school.

E-cigs could form the basis on which children are advised against the ills of cigarette smoking. By using the mods, they can be taught how to control the amount of nicotine they consume. Controlled vaping can go a long way in helping them deal with the pressure to smoke while keeping it under control.

5. E-cigarettes are not reliable in smoking cessation

Since e-cigs contain nicotine and are addictive, they may not be the best way to help you stop smoking. Besides, they are not approved as smoking cessation devices by the FDA. To kick the nicotine habit, you might end up smoking both traditional cigarettes and e-cigs.

The good thing is that vape mods have more social acceptance than conventional cigarettes. Their smell is lighter than that of cigarettes, and people have more tolerance towards them. Cigarette smoking is seen as rude and intrusive and also reflects poorly on the smoker.

Final Thoughts

Vaping is slowly taking over conventional cigarette smoking and it is known to have fewer effects on health than traditional cigarettes. E-cigs contain fewer chemicals and produce no smoke. On the other hand, traditional cigarettes cause teeth stains.

The vapor from e-cigs is scented and does not linger for long. They are socially acceptable because their smell is pleasant. They are also considered less intrusive and are not a display of irresponsibility.

Since you can control the amount of nicotine you put in your e-cigs, it means that you are also in control of the effects. Use them responsibly for more pronounced results.
