Chile, Argentina & Uruguay: Day 4 (Part 6)

January 11, 2011

In case you missed my first, second, third, fourth, and fifth stops on the island, click here, here, here, here, and here.  Before we arrived at Alicia’s favorite place, we stopped at yet another place with a backdrop so beautiful it looked as though someone had painted it.  I think this is the first destination I have ever visited where no photo editing was needed to retouch my pictures!

And finally a picture of my gorgeous tour guide Alicia on the volcanic rocks:

About a half a mile away was Alicia’s favorite place, or should I say stone?  The Rapa Nui have sacred spots all over the island, the majority are unknown to outsiders.  The one that she had taken me to is the most famous and is a stop on all tours.  Even though countless people visit it on a daily basis, as previously mentioned, it is Alicia’s favorite place.  You are supposed to connect with the energy of the stone with your hands and once you are able to feel it you are to make a wish and then touch the stone.  She swears that every single wish she has made has come true.  With those odds I had to try it out for myself!

I will let you know in about four months if my wish came true of not!  Then it was on to the final stop of the tour. . .

Well, I have an idea what your wish has to do with because of the timing, but the possibilities are endless =) may it come true!

You look so pretty and happy in the second picture of this post – you can see how much you were loving your day. And I too hope your wish will come true, although considering what’s happening 4ish months from now, I feel pretty confident that it will.

I hope th wish comes true. I had similar experience in Galicia, the north of Spain. Touching wasn’t enough though, you had to lie down on the stone. Beautiful pictures.

I’m loving all your beautiful photos of Easter Island!

Alicia looks JUST LIKE Makohe from the adventure documentary “180 degrees South” … is it possible that is her?
