One of my favorite things about having stayed at the Loews Miami Beach Hotel were the gorgeous panoramic views of Miami offered from the room’s balcony. The weather during our trip thus far had been on the rainy side, so when we awoke on our final day and saw a sun-filled sky we could not have been more happy. It seemed like a sin to return home without a tan!
The four of us decided to rent a cabana again, as the pool was a bit too crowded for our taste. Although this time, we all actually ventured out onto the beach in between our tropical drinks and afternoon snack of churros.
After hours upon hours of sun worshiping, we then headed to a restaurant I had been dreaming about visiting for a long time: The Bazaar. I am a huge fan of Chef José Andrés and had heard nothing but rave reviews about his award-winning Miami restaurant. It was the perfect place to end our quick jaunt to Florida on an extremely high note.
My husband Lucas and I knew we would like the restaurant before even trying anything, because they offered a drink with Fernet — a delicacy that is beloved in Argentina.
The Bazaar’s tapas menu is a delicious blend of Andrés’ Spanish heritage, tradition, and ingenuity with influences from South Beach’s local Latin flavors. We wished we could have ordered one of everything (although we did come pretty close).

Sadly, because we had eaten so much already, none of us had room for even one bite of dessert. However, my philosophy on traveling is to always leave a destination not having done everything you had originally set out to accomplish. This way you will always have a reason to return!
By the time we walked back to our hotel, we were not quite ready to end the night and say goodbye to each other just yet. We decided to get another round of drinks at a bar on Collins Avenue. We all agreed that despite our frustrations with the service we encountered in Miami, it was still the perfect place to have celebrated Lucas’ Birthday and our friendship.
