Taking a group trip with friends can be a helluva good time, but it is also true that not all destinations are group-friendly. Florida, however, does not fall into that category. The Sunshine State is so group-friendly that it can sometimes feel like it was designed with large groups of friends in mind.
With that said, you will still need to do a little extra legwork for a group trip than you would if you were traveling with just one or two others. In this post, we will outline some tried-and-tested tips that will ensure your trip runs smoothly and that everyone in your traveling party has an unforgettable time.
Travel At The Right Time
Florida is a year-round destination, so you could feasibly travel at any point of the year and have a great time with your friends. However, there are a couple of periods that are more group-friendly than others.
To get the most from your trip, we would recommend booking your trip for between February and April. That offers fewer crowds, more accommodation options, and has the advantage of having the best weather. When you have a large group, having the fallback activity of simply spending time at the beach is very much welcome when you cannot quite agree on a plan.
Plan Ahead
Traveling in a group requires a little additional logistical planning compared with individual trips. For starters, you will need to figure out how you will get from the airport to your accommodation and around town. While it is possible to split the group into multiple cabs, doing so can cause delays and also impact momentum; it is much more fun to be traveling together!
Some Florida transport companies, such as Black Car Service Solutions, provide luxury vans and limousines that can comfortably accommodate 10+ passengers, allowing groups to travel from the airport and around town together. It is also likely that you will need to book any attractions/reservations/etc early; it is sometimes possible to find one last-minute ticket, but not ten.
Book Awesome Accommodation
In some cases, traveling in a group invites additional pressures that can be stressful, but it also opens up opportunities. If you are taking a trip to Florida with a large group, then you will have the option of booking a large vacation home, many of which have their own private pool and other awesome amenities, for more or less the same cost as staying in a hotel. Having your own mansion is also great for socializing, since you will all be sharing the same space.
Avoid Overplanning
It is easy to get carried away when organizing a group to Florida. After all, there is so much to do, and you know it will be fun when you are with your best friends! However, it is also recommended to build in some downtime to your itinerary. Continually moving from one activity to the next can be exhausting, and in any case, it could be that everyone’s simply happy to spend time as a group at the beach anyway. As long as you are together, you will have a great time.
