Mount Tirich Mir is the highest peak in the Hindu Kush range, and is located in the Chitral District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. The normal route of ascent is from the south side, starting at the village of Tirich Mir. There are a number of climbing routes on Mount Tirich Mir, but the most popular and easiest to follow is the South Ridge. The South Ridge route starts from Base Camp, which is located at an elevation of 4,200 meters (13,780 feet). From Base Camp, climbers will climb to Camp I at an elevation of 5,200 meters (17,060 feet), and then on to Camp II at an elevation of 6,100 meters (20,010 feet). From here, climbers will attempt to summit Mount Tirich Mir via the South Ridge. The best time to attempt a climb of Mount Tirich Mir is during the summer months (July and August), when weather conditions are generally more favorable. However, it should be noted that even during these months conditions can be unpredictable and change rapidly. Therefore, climbers should always be prepared for cold temperatures and high winds whether its Tirich or Mera Peak, Ojos del salado, Island peak and Aconcagua, K2, Everest, Manaslu etc.

The views from the top are truly breathtaking, making this a must-do for any avid hiker. If you’re looking for something a little more challenging, try your hand at climbing the North Face Route. This strenuous 12-mile climb will take you up steep rock faces and through exposed areas. It’s not for the faint of heart, but those who make it to the top will be rewarded with stunning views of Pakistan’s Hindu Kush mountains.
The climate here is alpine, with cold winters and cool summers. Snowfall is common at higher elevations, so camping here can be a challenge during the winter months. However, there are several hotels in route to Mount Tirich Mir that offer warm accommodations and beautiful views of the mountain. Pollution levels are relatively low in this area making it an ideal place to enjoy the natural beauty of Pakistan.
