My Wedding & Honeymoon: Day 6-10 (Part 11)

October 5, 2011

Then it was time for the requisite family photos.  Faena Hotel + Universe at dusk made for the perfect backdrop.  Who do you think I look more like: my Mom or my Dad?

No one thinks my younger brother and I look anything alike, but I definitely see a resemblance.  Can you believe there is a ten year age difference?

My one regret regarding my wedding photography was not taking more photos with Julie, my wedding planner/Matron of Honor.  She was such an important part of our special day, in fact there would not have been a special day without her.

I think my husband looks just like his Mom, what about you?

I have always been surrounded by men and love their protective energy.  Now I have a husband, two more brothers, and a second father.  I think I never have to worry about anything ever again!

Once the family photos were finished, Lucas and I sneaked off with our wedding photographers and Julie.

A gringa riding around the city of Buenos Aires in her wedding dress is certainly not a common sight and I do not think I have ever been stared at more in my life.

We finally arrived at our destination.  I had spent a year deciding where would be the perfect place for Lucas and I to take our wedding photos.  I wanted it to be iconic, as well as a place that also had a special meaning for us, not just for Porteños.  Thankfully, the place ended up being just minutes away from Faena by taxi.

Do you have any guesses where we went?  Which is your favorite photo?

I love how close you are with your brother despite the age difference. I’m 11 years younger than my sister but as we get older we become closer and I love it.

Growing up we were not close as all, in fact I was more like his 2nd Mom. Then when he turned 16 we become best friends. The kid is the love of my life I tell ya!!! I love hearing that you’re close with your sister despite the huge age difference as well.

I think you have your mom’s coloring, but some of your dad’s facial features. Your brother and you have similar eyes too. Who is the young woman between you and your mom in the fourth picture from the bottom? It really warms my heart to see such a close family.

That is Maria, Marcos’ (Lucas’ oldest brother) girlfriend. They have been together for 5 years. I’m hoping they get married sometime soon too. Thanks a million for your lovely words!!!

WOW! Gorgeous dress and photos! I’m five years older than my sister so I understand the age difference…but I think it’s all the better as adults. =) And I think you look like your mom.

What an absolutely beautiful family. <3 … I actually think Lucas looks just like his dad. Haha.

Plus I think you and your brother do look alike – you both look like your mum. 🙂

Absolutely love that picture of Lucas and your brother kissing each of your cheeks. So lovely!

The shot in the lobby makes me smile. I also love the thought of you in a wedding dress in a taxi. It always makes me happy and optimistic to see brides when I am in a foreign country and it would have made my day to see the image in the second to last photo!

Haha I love that shot, because Kyle took a BIG risk by taking it. Faena copyrighted their hotel and wouldn’t let us take ANY shots inside, but we kinda ignored them haha. I’m such a HUGE fan of the taxi shot!!! She took that from inside another taxi!

Isn’t that such an awesome shot!?! Julie and I giggle every time we see that! We were trying to move as quickly as possible, so that we didn’t keep the guest waiting too long. And I love that Lucas and I are on your fridge!!!
