La Puente de la Mujer, or the Woman’s Bridge, is where we chose to take our wedding photos. The iconic bridge, in the heart of Puerto Madero, is shaped to look like a woman who is being dipped while dancing the tango — so very, very Argentine. It was one of the first landmarks I visited on my inaugural trip to Buenos Aires. I cannot tell you how many times Lucas and I strolled across the bridge over the last six years, hand in hand, dreaming about our future together.
Now we were on the bridge yet again, except this time we no longer needed to dream, as our dream had become our reality.
One day while browsing Etsy for wedding ideas, I came across a shop that sold handmade signs and thought they would make for an excellent wedding prop. We ended up using the following photo for the front of our “thank you” notes.
On our way back to the reception at Faena Hotel + Universe, Kyle, our wedding photographer, spotted something and told the taxi driver that he had to turn around. She caught sight of a “LOVE” sign, which just so happened to be designed by Faena. It could not be more perfect, right?
And, although I am totally biased, this is my favorite wedding photo Kyle has ever taken:
Before returning to our reception, we sneaked upstairs into our room for a couple of more shots. We took the sweet photos on the bridge, thus it was time for some sexy ones!
Which is your favorite photo?
The photos of you and Lucas on the bridge are my favorites!! So gorgeous and atmospheric. Plus those signs you ordered from Etsy are just darling! 🙂
They are my favorite too! I will cherish these FOREVER!!! Isn’t that sign cute?
A Love Sign!
Sooo synchronistic!
I am LOVING your wedding blog posts. I am in BA right now and can see why you wanted to get married here, such a great city!
I’m SO delighted to hear that! I’m jealous you’re in BA — I wish you the most amazing time!!! Let me know if you need any tips or suggestions.
You guys looked super sweet and amazing! Love the one your in the tub and blur in the foreground.
That’s such an awesome shot! Kyle really rocked these photos, I LOVE all of them! Thanks for your kind words!!!
Ummmmm, could you have picked any cooler locations to shoot at? Amazing!
Hahaha, so amazing, right? Sooooooo in love with this bridge!!!
My personal favorite is that last one where you’re in the bathtub…so intimate feeling! Hahaha, thanks for climbing in the bathtub in your full on wedding gear 🙂
I would pretty much do ANYTHING you told me, just so you know! 😉
Lovely photos, Andi!! I’ve been following your wedding story after seeing your posts on Spanish Sabores’s page. Like you and Lauren, I have my own Spanish love story, though we went the civil union route. I wish my pareja were as photogenic, as it’s obvious we’d take wedding photos where we first met and fell in love – Triana, a lovely neighborhood in Seville, Spain! Here’s to many years of happiness for you two.
Thanks so much! And I’m so happy that you found me through Spanish Sabores’ page!!! I love how everything is connected! Do you have any posts about your wedding or marriage — I would love to read them! Besos!!!
The lighting on the bridge is perfect, but the LOVE sign was really just too good a coincidence to be true! I love the series of the three shots, especially the one where you’re beckoning Lucas toward you.
I was so relieved when I saw these shots, because we rushed through this shoot and it was freezing and windy. I was nervous that you’d be able to see that in the shots, but you can’t yay! I was THIS close to saying that the LOVE shot was my 2nd favorite shot, my 1st being the one of your hubby kissing you in the street in Santiago on your wedding day…
Seriously best wedding photos EVER!
Awwwww thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!
These are so much fun! And I love the LOVE sign. Brilliant!
Sooo brilliant!!! Thanks gorgeous!
The LOVE sign is AMAZING! And I absolutely love the symbolism of the bridge, and can picture you two strolling over it for years and years. Beautiful post!
It was just SO synchronistic when we drove by it — such a great catch by Kyle!!! We will absolutely treasure these photos for years to come! Thanks a million for your lovely words! XO
I should have guessed on your last post. This what the place I was thinking. So beautiful at night.
Sooo beautiful and I love that it lights up with different colors now! Pink is my fave!!! 😉
There’s my fridge shot!! WOW that bathtub pics are sexy!! I also love the “Love” ones. I hadn’t seen that! You two are too cute.
Haha I LOVE that we’re on your fridge! The tub shots were Kyle’s idea…brilliant!!!
Wow… These photos are amazing! I love them! Great find on the “Love” sign.
Thank you SO much for your kind words — Lucas and I LOVE them too! 😉
I have been loving your wedding photos! Your dress is so pretty. The LOVE pictures are so cute!
I’m sooo glad to hear that you’re loving the photos, even more to come soon. That dress was SO perfect for me!!!
Ahhh.. The Bridge! I should have guessed that. the pictures turned out fabulous!
Yay!!! Thanks SO much! 🙂
Gorgeous! I love the bridge as a backdrop!
Isn’t it perfect!?!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.
The B&W one is my personal favorite 🙂
Thank you, thank you, and thank you again — you ALWAYS say the most wonderful things! <3
Wow, Buenos Aires seems like a wonderful place to celebrate your wedding. It’s so romantic to go back to the bridge where you used to dream of a future together and now have your wedding photos taken there!
I especially love the 5th and the 8th photo on the bridge and the 3rd LOVE photo.
I’m sooo happy that we had the wedding there. We debated for such a long time, but it ended up being the perfect place! Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m REALLY touched!!! 🙂
I can imagine it’s a difficult decision to travel that far for your wedding, but I’m sure you made the right choice!
Well, first we wanted Brasil and that didn’t work out, so BsAs was our next choice, but that was such a long flight for my family and friends. They still came though — I’m SO blessed!!!
I still absolutely love that photo of you in the bathtub, when you’re not looking at the camera, and Lucas is standing over you. To me it almost symbolises that you’re in a period of relaxtion and feeling so comfortable (in the tub) and Lucas standing over you is the protector who makes sure you’re always at ease, relaxing and looked after in your life.
I hope that makes sense. 🙂
That absolutely makes sense and I remember you saying that on Kyle’s post months ago. Your comment stood out amongst the hundred or so comments. I LOVE that image you have painted with your words and it couldn’t be more true! XO
Gorgeous photos!
Kyle is a rock star!!!
