Why It Is Andi’s Pick
You could spend an entire day wandering around the hotel’s grounds — from the perfectly landscaped interior courtyard to the wrought-iron door frames that greet you upon arrival to the rooftop plunge pool that affords a stunning view of the sea. If you leave the grounds to explore the city, make sure to return in the evening for the free wine and cheese hour that is offered daily.
Oh wow, what a beautiful hotel! I love all the lovely details! Thanks for sharing, Andi!
You’re so welcome! This place was just gorgeous!!!
Andi, we have to agree with you. We just checked in, got to out room and all we can saw is WOW!
You’re there now? Eeeeeeek how exciting!!! ENJOY!
My husband and I went to Puerto Rico 2 times within a few months a couple years ago. He loved it there and wants to go back.. I would like to go somewhere different, but these BEAUTIFUL photos make me want to try this hotel and we stay at the Ritz Carlton both times. Lovely post 🙂
We were thinking about the Ritz! Maybe we’ll try it next time. I HIGHLY recommend at least one night at El Convento!!! That’s so awesome that you guys loved PR too. There is something SO special about that island.
that looks like such a charming hotel!
That is the perfect word to describe it: charming! 🙂
Absolutely love it! The facade reminds me of the elegant cathedrals in Macau, especially St. Dominic’s Church, the Filipino style yellow and white structure near the Ruins of St. Paul. It’s especially marvelous to see worldwide influences on hotels…now my curiosity to visit PR is especially piqued!
YES!!! You’re sooo right! You must visit, you’d love it.
I love the hotel’s dark wood furnishings, ceiling beams, shutters and other gorgeous architectural details. So atmospheric! And your first photo makes San Juan look an absolute garden.
