Whether you live in Dallas, TX or are planning a trip and looking for a few unique ways to explore the city, this list is for you. Dallas has a vast luxury apartment selection, a nightlife scene that has something for everyone, and an underground cuisine market that will blow your mind. And when we say underground, we mean literally, in the form of an underground steakhouse.
- Dakota’s
Ready to get down? By down, I mean underground, of course. In 1984, this steakhouse was purchased by the First Dallas Baptist church, which included a clause that stated no alcohol could be served on former church ground. As a result, Dakota’s took their craft 18 feet below, where they have been serving delectable cocktails and some of Dallas’ best steak dinners.
- Uchi
Uchi is a stellar Japanese restaurant located in Uptown Dallas. This hip spot is related to the original Uchi in Austin, and if you have ever been there, you know you are in for a unique experience. The amazing happy hour specials, combined with delicious sushi, will have you coming back time and time again. Their sleek, modern décor makes for a wonderful dining experience and their Wagyu Beef is without equal.
- Parliament
This trendy cocktail bar in Uptown is a great place to come for a 5-8 happy hour. Their presentation is worth the visit alone — the bar has a roaring 20’s vibe that makes you feel like you are part of something special. The drinks, like the bee’s knees cocktail, made with gin, raw honey syrup, Meyer lemon, rosemary cracked pepper, and egg white, are truly unique and delicious. The menu is huge and every item is beautifully made and delicious.
- Deep Ellum Brewing Company
No trendy list is complete without a great brewery. This Dallas beer sanctuary has great food, tasty beers, a trendy vibe, and even quiz night every Tuesday. It is a great spot to hang out in the summer, as there is plenty of outdoor patio seating. Make sure to stop in when there is a live band and take home some of their canned brews.
- The Tree House Bar at Truck Yard
We all knew that Dallas was home to quite a few luxury apartments, but how about tree houses? This birds-eye-view cocktail shop is a unique spot that everyone should visit at least once. Start at the food truck and work your way up to the top.
- Mutts Canine Cantina
We have heard of bars that allow dogs, but how about an entire dog-park that doubles as a cantina? This park has great burger and cocktails, and it is a great place for you and your pup to socialize and play.
