Family Activities In Seminyak

December 24, 2018

Families with kids from all over the world come to Bali Island for a wonderful, exotic, family holiday and guess where many of them choose to stay? That is right — in happening, trending, and colorful Seminyak. This iconic beach town is just a wonderful holiday haven where you can experience the Balinese culture without having to give up on modern luxuries and entertainment. Seminyak has got everything: beaches, beach clubs, shops, Melbourne-inspired coffee bars, exquisite restaurants, and beautiful family villas where parents and kids are bound to have a lovely time. These days, the centre of Seminyak features walkways to push strollers and no matter where you are, the local Balinese people will adore you kids (not only girls, women, and grannies, but also boys, men, and grandpas — it is really true and I think it is just adorable). Anyway, let us not get too far off topic. Family activities in Seminyak; there are plenty of them. Here we go:

KU DE TA on Sundays = Family Day

Every Sunday it is family day at KU DE TA Beach Club. From 10 am to 3 pm, the hours are filled with cute and fun kids activities, games, and crafts. Your little ones can get their faces painted and jump around on bouncy castles while you, mom and dad, can sip a cocktail or two, watching the kids have fun and enjoying these precious moments of quality time together. What a beautiful family you have. There is a swimming pool to plunge into, there is the ocean view to enjoy, the magic mix for a lovely family day out under the tropical sun in Seminyak.

Made’s Warung: traditional food and cultural dance performances

Up for some authentic Indonesian food and a cultural dance performance? You are in luck for Made’s Warung is located right in the center of town and this excellent Indonesian restaurant has got a cultural performance going on every evening, starting at 7.30 pm. The staff there loves kids, the performances are enchanting, and the food is delicious and well-priced, too.

Tea Time At Biku

Biku is a perfect family restaurant with a playing nook for the little ones, coloring books and pencils, and a cute little shop. The restaurant is tucked in an ancient Joglo house and its got indoor and outdoor tables to sit down for some lovely ‘family tea time’. On the menu, you will find a wide variety of food, but undoubtedly, the highlight is the high tea – Biku is a tea house, after all, and they have a special high tea for the kids, too with mini cupcakes, gingerbread, and kids-inspired sandwiches. Charming, lovely, and yummy, too!

Dream Museum Zone

Do not be fooled by the word ‘museum’, DMZ might be a museum, but it is not an ordinary one, as it is a museum that all kids from young to old will love to bits. Dream Museum Zone features wonderous live-size murals and trick art; you can take the coolest family photos in every setting imaginable. Do not miss out on this one!

Surf Lessons

Bali and surfing are like cake and egg, as they are inseparable. Go and book yourself in for a family surfing class — it is a must! There are plenty of good local surf schools around with professional surf instructors trained according to international safety standards. A surf lesson makes up for a perfect family activity and a wonderful day out at sea. Seminyak Beach has got perfect surfing waves; most of the time they are rolling to shore in a pretty straight line, great for beginners. With a little help, you will be standing on that board in no time. Woohoo!

Family fun in the pool of your private villa

Seminyak is home to a whole array of gorgeous family villas. Want to stay in trendy Petitenget, laid-back Double Six or just outside of the centre of town in Kerobokan or Batu Belig? Want to stay somewhere traditional or contemporary – the choices are plentiful and there is something for everyone! You can go for villas with open-plan living room, air-conditioned entertainment hubs, bunk-beds, kids toys or on-site playgrounds, but no matter which villa you choose, you will have a private swimming pool to enjoy and that is really, all you need. Kids dream of a pool in their backyard and now they have it. Guaranteed family fun every day, all day!

Waterbom – one of the world’s best water parks

Waterbom is not found in Seminyak but in the neighbouring beach town Kuta. The reasons I’m mentioning Waterbom in this article is because it happens to be ranked as Asia’s #1 water park and it is located almost right next to your door so it would be a shame missing out on the thrilling slides you will find inside. Even the toughest daddies may have to overcome some fears when going for a waterslide on the Climax, exposing one to 2.5G’s of force. The park is also home to a lazy river, mellow water slides, and the ‘funtastic’ water playground for the little kids and much more.

A day at the spa for the entire family

At some point of your holiday to Bali, it is ‘spa time’. Now, in Seminyak, there are many, many spas around and some of them feature awesome ‘mom & me’ and ‘dad and me’ spa packages. Make use of it! Everyone is going to love it — even your little ones.
