Whenever someone talks about going for a vacation in France, the Eiffel tower automatically comes to mind. From watching the sunset from the Eiffel Tower to witnessing the mesmerizing beauty of the countryside with luxury french barge cruises, you can create numerous unforgettable memories in France. To help you add more exciting things to your France bucket list, here are five things you must do when you are in France.

 1. Take a stroll down the lanes of Old Quarters of Paris.

Who wouldn’t like to take a walk on the charming lanes of old quarters in Paris? To truly enjoy the mesmerizing ambience of medieval Paris, you have to visit one of the neighbourhoods from Le Marais, Île Saint-Louis or Quartier Latin. Once you take a stroll alongside the charming book stores and shops, you can cross the Petit Pont bridge on the Seine river and head straight to the Île de la Cité to visit the famous Notre-Dame Cathedral that you always wanted to see.

 2. Witness the Grandeur of Mont Saint-Michel.

To catch a glimpse of heaven, you can make a pilgrimage to the Abbaye du Mont-Saint-Michel, popularly known as the Pyramid of the Seas. It is located on a massive island which is a stop on the voyage of “Way of Saint James” to Santiago de Compostela, which has been going since the 11th century.

 3. Take a ride on a French barge cruise.

If you genuinely want to enjoy the medieval European beauty of the french countryside, you must take a ride on one of the luxury french barge cruises. You’ll get to cruise along with the famous canals and live on the barge cruise itself. While you cruise down the Canal du Loing to Samois-Sur-Seine, you get to visit some beautiful towns and enjoy the scenic beauty of France.

 4. Visit the Artists’ village of Saint-Paul de Vence.

Nothing inspires an artist more than witnessing the work of other artists. If you are one of the aspiring artists, you must visit Saint-Paul de Vence, the medieval hilltop town which was very popular with artists since the 1920s. Marc Chagall, the famous Russian-French artist, lived in this town for 20 years and painted numerous artworks there. Saint-Paul de Vence is a great place for artists to visit and get inspired.

 5. Take a bike ride around Bordeaux.

Bordeaux is the home of beautiful vine-covered hills, grand castles and beautiful historic villages. If you love riding a bicycle, you can plan a self-guided tour or get a tour company to plan your cycling route. In the Entre-Deux-Mer region, the Roger Lapébie bike path is famous for its majestic natural landscapes.

If you want to go for a longer route, the Bordeaux to Saint-Émilion route offers a great view of medieval villages. Thanks to their historic churches and monasteries, this village has secured its place in the UNESCO World Heritage sites list.

These are some of the fantastic things to do when you are in France. Don’t forget to plan your trip to visit more places and do more things in less time.
