How can exercise lower your blood pressure? Regular exercise makes your heart stronger. A stronger heart will pump more blood with less difficulty. As a result, the strain on your arteries decreases, lowering your blood pressure. A recommendation of 150 minutes a week or about 30 minutes most days can help lower your blood pressure. It is important to be consistent because if you stop exercising, your blood pressure can rise again.
