The distance between Lukla and Namche bazaar is 13.5 km, which requires two days of hiking
There is a distance of 13.5 km between Lukla and Namche bazaar, however, you will need a night and two days to reach Namche bazaar from Lukla due to the fact that you will be landing at 2800 meters altitude on the first day at the Lukla airport.
For successful acclimatization when trekking in high-altitude areas, hike slowly and make sure that your body is familiar with the altitude. In order to descend down from Namche to Lukla within a day after reaching Everest base camp, you may need to spend a night in Phagding from Lukla and travel the next day to Namche Bazaar.
In the high-altitude area, there is no point in rushing, so it is possible to cover the distance from Namche to Tengboche in one day. As Namche Bazaar is located at 2440 m altitude, it is not recommended that you climb more than 500 meters per day above 2000 m altitude. Your itinerary should be flexible, either three pass trek or an Everest base camp trek, depending on your plans. Our recommendation is that you spend one day in Namche Bazaar before heading to any of the corners of the Everest region on your trek.
There is a distance of 5.9 km between Namche and Tengboche and Tengboche is 3860 meters above sea level. Furthermore, Tengboche is only seven to eight kilometres away from the next village. At low altitudes, we can hike 15 to 20 kilometres per day, but at high altitudes, the air is thin and the body does not receive adequate oxygen. In light of this, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the natural air and environment of the area before hiking at high altitudes.
