The distance between Lukla and Namche bazaar is 13.5 km, which requires two days of hiking

There is a distance of 13.5 km between Lukla and Namche bazaar, however, you will need a night and two days to reach Namche bazaar from Lukla due to the fact that you will be landing at 2800 meters altitude on the first day at the Lukla airport.

For successful acclimatization when trekking in high-altitude areas, hike slowly and make sure that your body is familiar with the altitude. In order to descend down from Namche to Lukla within a day after reaching Everest base camp, you may need to spend a night in Phagding from Lukla and travel the next day to Namche Bazaar.

In the high-altitude area, there is no point in rushing, so it is possible to cover the distance from Namche to Tengboche in one day. As Namche Bazaar is located at 2440 m altitude, it is not recommended that you climb more than 500 meters per day above 2000 m altitude. Your itinerary should be flexible, either three pass trek or an Everest base camp trek, depending on your plans. Our recommendation is that you spend one day in Namche Bazaar before heading to any of the corners of the Everest region on your trek.

There is a distance of 5.9 km between Namche and Tengboche and Tengboche is 3860 meters above sea level. Furthermore, Tengboche is only seven to eight kilometres away from the next village. At low altitudes, we can hike 15 to 20 kilometres per day, but at high altitudes, the air is thin and the body does not receive adequate oxygen. In light of this, it is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the natural air and environment of the area before hiking at high altitudes.

Relaxed after spending more time

As you travel from Lukla to Namche in 2 nights and 3 days, you can arrange for your luggage to be carried by a porter-guide in Lukla, and you can enjoy your breakfast in the cool air at a restaurant in Lukla, as well as take photos on hiking trails, seeing mountain peaks, wooden bridges, and the Dudh Koshi river as you go.

Everest base camp minimum days

The Everest base camp trek requires at least 11 to 12 days, and the Gokyo lake trek requires at least 14 to 15 days if you include the Chola pass, also there are 3 passes trek with is require 17 to 20 days. It is recommended to allow one or two extra days for the EBC trek as the flight from Lukla to Kathmandu may be delayed at times due to bad weather.
