Painful urination is a common symptom of several illnesses or diseases. There are many different ways to treat painful urination, depending on the cause. If you do not know what is causing it, then make sure to see a doctor to find out.

Urinary Tract Infection

A urinary tract infection is exactly what it sounds like– an infection in the urinary tract. Some symptoms of bacterial vaginosis include discolored discharge (grey/white), pain after sex, foul-smelling discharge, and itching. These symptoms are also similar to a yeast infection, so it is best to see a doctor to find out which ailment you are facing.

If you see a doctor, he or she will likely prescribe you a pill to clear up the bacteria. It is not necessary to see a doctor for this, but it will help to clear up the ailment faster. If you choose to use home remedies, try garlic. You can eat garlic on a regular basis. It contains natural anti-inflammatory properties that can help to reduce the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. Some women also insert cloves of garlic in their vaginas. This can cause a burning sensation, so try this method at your own risk.

UTIs, bladder stones, and bacterial vaginosis are all relatively common ailments that can cause painful urination in women. They are so common that most women will face at least one of these problems in their lifetimes. If you are worried you have one of these ailments, make sure to see a doctor to confirm it.
