Without a healthy diet, there is no healthy life. If you plan to upgrade your habits and lifestyle regarding the food you consume, we recommend stocking up on the following five foods.
Legumes
Tasty lentils, different types of healthiest beans, green beans, peas, and other legumes, are very nutrient-dense and great for cooking.
For example, you can make soup, a side dish for meat, or a salad from them.
Nuts and seeds
Nuts and seeds contain vitamins, healthy fats, protein, and fiber. They can be eaten raw or baked, and they can also be used as a spread.
You can always enrich your salad, muesli, and smoothie with them; they are also great snacks.
Frozen fruits and vegetables
Although we always prefer fresh fruits and vegetables over frozen ones, it is not wise to stock up on these foods, as they rot very quickly.
If you wash and peel them and put them in the freezer in the appropriate packaging, they will be at hand at any time of the day and year.
Healthy fats
Not all fats are equally (un)healthy. Olive, coconut, and hemp oil contain healthy fats, so enriching your diet with them is advisable. Pour these oils over your salad or use them to prepare other meals.
Just be careful not to over-fry, as this process reduces the number of nutrients in the food.
Fermented food
This type of food includes, among others, sauerkraut, pickles, kombucha, and yeast dishes. You will go right if you regularly consume any of them, and you will especially do your digestive organs a favor.
Many fermented foods also have a very long shelf life, making them ideal for storing in the pantry.
