Melbourne To Canberra 

One of our favorite trips is a ten-day road trip you can take from Melbourne to Canberra, where you will soak up the history and culture in national parks, historical sites, and more. It is the perfect trip to take in a campervan and covers a whopping 977 km. We recommend following this itinerary: 

  • Day 1 – Drive to Bendigo (1 hr 50 min), where you can see Benidog art gallery and Central Deborah Gold Mine 
  • Day 2 – Drive to Seymour (1 hr 10 mins), where you can visit the Australian Light Horse Memorial Park and blue tongue berries 
  • Day 3 – Drive to Shepparton (1 hour) and enjoy the all-abilities playground if you are travelling with children or the moooving art cows with over 90 to find across Shepparton 
  • Day 4 – Drive to Wangaratta (1 hour 10 mins), where you can visit Warby Ovens National Park and Lake William Hovell 
  • Drive to Albury (50 minutes) and enjoy walking around the botanical gardens or taking part in the Yindyamarra sculpture walk 
  • Day 6 – Drive to Holbrook (40 minutes) and visit the Holbrook Submarine Museum and the National Museum of Australian Pottery 
  • Day 7 – Drive to Wagga Wagga (1 hour) and enjoy the Wagga Wagga art gallery and wander through the river and wren markets 
  • Day 8 – Drive to Gundagai (1 hour), where you can see the Yarri and Jacky Jacky sculpture and visit the Gundagai rotary lookout 
  • Day 9 – Drive to Murrumbateman (1 hour 15 mins), where you can see Blackwattle alpaca farm and Dionysius winery 
  • Day 10 – Drive to Canberra (35 minutes) and check out Questacon and the Australian War Memorial 

Melbourne To Perth

For a longer road trip in your campervan, you can drive for fourteen days from Melbourne to Perth, covering a huge 3458 km of distance as you see stunning scenery across the Southern coast of Australia. Our favorite way to break up this trip is outlined below: 

  • Day 1 – Drive to Lorne (2 hours) and visit Torquay and the Otway HarvestTraill 
  • Day 2 – Drive to Port Fairy (3 hours), where Erskine Falls is our must-visit spot! Colac BotanicGardenss are also worth exploring 
  • Day 3 – Drive to Mount Gambier (2 hours) and see the Blue Lake and Giant Yambuk slide 
  • Day 4 – Drive to Kangaroo Island (7 hours 30 mins), where you can enjoy Echo Farm and Tantanoola Caves Conservation Park 
  • Day 5 – Drive to Adelaide (4 hours) and explore Barossa Valley and Adelaide’s central market 
    Day 6 – Drive to Port Lincoln (7 hours) and visit the South Australian Aviation Museum and the Koppio Smithy Museum 
  • Day 7 – Rest day where you can stay overnight in Port Lincoln and visit Whalers Way and see the Glen-Forest tourist park and vineyard
  • Day 8 – Drive to Ceduna (4 hours 30 mins) and enjoy Coffin Bay and Streaky Bay 
  • Day 9 – Drive to Mundrabilla (6 hours) and see Penong Windmills and blow holes & caves 
  • Day 10 – Drive to Salmon Gums (8 hours) and enjoy Norseman and the Salmon Gums war memorial 
  • Day 11 – Drive to Esperance (1 hour 30 mins) and see Cape Le Grand National Park and Lake Hillier 
  • Day 12 – Drive to Albany (6 hours) and visit Lucky Bay and the Gap and Natural Bridge 
  • Day 13 – Drive to Busselton (4 hours 30 mins) and check out Sunflowers Animal Farm and Chainsaw Sculpture Drive 
  • Day 14 – Drive to Perth (2 hours 30 mins) and check out the Lotterywest Federation walkway and Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park 

Melbourne To Sydney 

Lovers of a coastal road trip should check out this ten-day trip that takes you over 1300 km from Melbourne to Sydney. You can see plenty of beaches by following our itinerary: 

  • Days 1 -2 – Melbourne to Phillip Island, where you can visit Queen Victoria Markets and Summerland Beach
  • Days 2-3 -Phillip Island to Wilsons Promontory to enjoy walking from Darby River to Tongue Point and see sensational national parks 
  • Days 4-5 – Wilson Promontory to Foster, where you can see Angels Falls and Pearl Park 
  • Days 5-6 – Foster to Bairnsdale, where you can visit Port Albert and Gippsland Lakes
