Before I begin this tale of love, I must preface that it was both the most extraordinary, as well as the most challenging journey I have ever undertaken. While I experienced unforgettable moments of bliss, I was tested in ways that I never imagined being tested. Of course, all adventures, big or small, leave us changed forever. By the time I reach the end of this story, however, you will see that I am not only a changed person, but that I am a better person and most importantly dreams really do come true.
Unfortunately, at the last minute, the airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina in which my flight was scheduled to land at was switched. Thus, there would not be enough time for my fiancé Lucas to meet me at the new airport. I had been dreaming of our “airport reunion” for seven months and was definitely disappointed that after I walked through customs he would not be there waiting for me. Although, he was now waiting for me at our hotel, Algedon Mansion, with two glasses of champagne.
In all of my travels, I have never seen a hotel room as gorgeous as the one we stayed at in Algodon Mansion.
I have been to hotels with to-die-for views and stayed in rooms that thoroughly impressed me, but this room, well it took Lucas and I’s breath away. It was the size of a small apartment and it just oozed luxury.
Oh, and did I mention that the room came with our own private butler? We were also gifted a bottle of Malbec from Algodon’s vineyard in Mendoza as a wedding present!
I should not have expected anything less than perfection from a mansion in the heart of the glamorous barrio of Recoleta. I truly felt like I was in a fairytale being in the arms of the man I loved in such beautiful surroundings with our wedding now just days away! Before we could get too settled, we had to get ready for the special evening that we had planned. . .
Fancy digs! You deserve the best after waiting 7 months.
Thank you so much!!! It was the ultimate in luxury. 🙂
lovely to read about your lovely wedding!
I’m so happy that you’re enjoy the stories and pics!
Seriously, you have the most fabulous life and wow do you take great photos!!! What a beautiful place!
I don’t even know how to respond to such an awesome comment, other than to say thank you! And yes, AM is SUCH a beautiful place!!!
This is seriously like a movie!
I’m blushing!
Wow, Andi. Your such an eloquent writer and we look forward to the whole series. Thank you again for the lovely words and pics.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful words!!! It’s very easy to write about your spectacular hotel. More to come soon!
Omg, so GLAM! and that bathtub!!! I’m such a sucker for awesome bathrooms.
Me too! I think that’s my favorite thing about staying in hotels haha. These pics of the bathroom just don’t do it justice, it was HUGE!!!
Such familiar emotions! I look forward to hearing more about your wedding adventure. I’m sure we could chat for days about the trials and tribulations of planning a multi-cultural destination wedding!
I promise there will be lots and lots of more posts! I could easily write a book about my wedding/honeymoon adventure! I actually would love to chat sometime re: our experiences planning a multi-cultural destination wedding. Do you have skype? 🙂
I LOVE it!!! Oh Andi, I’m so glad you had such a glorious place to meet your man and ease your disappointment. 🙂 I just want to give you the biggest hug today. 🙂
Oh gosh, I would LOVE a hug from you today!!! Yes, it was hard to be sad about not meeting at the airport when we got to meet at such a gorgeous place and I was greeted with champagne. XOXO
Wow, looks so fantastic! What a great place to stay with him.
It was utterly fantastic and the perfect place for our 1st night together after 7 months apart!
So luxurious, it must be have an amazing stay. I’ve never heard of a hotel coming with it’s own private butler before!
How do you manage sponsored stays between you and the hotel?
I had never heard of having your own private butler before staying at AM before either! I only took advantage of it once, the following morning when we ordered room service. It was truly the ultimate in luxury!!!
Oh how gorgeous! You had the perfect wedding package!
So gorgeous and total perfection!!!
The hotel room is gorgeous. It must have been even better in person.
I have a hard enough time getting everything we need into a suitcase and to India. I can’t imagine the stress of getting my wedding dress onto a plane and all that. From what I’ve seen already I can’t wait for the rest of the posts and the pictures!
It was 100X better in person! I could have easily taken a 100 photos, but I wanted to enjoy every second I could, so I put the camera down. Yeah, getting married in another hemisphere is definitely not for the faint of heart. It took a year to plan and it’s gonna take a year to recover haha! 🙂
Congrats on the wedding! Saw some of the pics and you and your husband make a beautiful couple 🙂 Bonne chance a vous!!
Thank you so much, this comment totally made my day! 🙂
What a beautiful place! There’s little I appreciate more than an awesome hotel room.
You and me both darling!
It looks beautiful! A butler?! How fancy 😀
Haha so fancy, right!? I only used the butler once, I probably should have tested him out a couple of more times. 😉
Looks awesome. This is one of the most amazing wedding I have ever saw. It was a tough choice a guest for the whole details.
Thank you sooo much!!! I’m very touched!
The champagnes were such a nice touch! And the hotel was exceptional… so luxurious but just so fitting for you love birds! Congrats on your upcoming nuptials! 🙂
Oooh the nuptials were on May 14th, so they already happened! If you scroll through my back posts you can see pics. 🙂
Thanks for your kind words and you were 100% right about the hotel. I will definitely come up with an excuse in the future to stay there again!!!

Wow girl, look at this place. It’s amazing. If I ever went for a trip I would consider staying here. I fall in love with that tub. Your photography are so nice love how you capture all the beautiful details.
You should absolutely consider staying there even if it’s for only 1 night! It will blow you away!!! My pictures just don’t do it justice. Thank you so much for your sweet words about my photographs. I’m honored coming from such an awesome photographer!
Love that bathtub! So looking forward to the rest of the series…even though we were there, I don’t think I know everything that went on =)
Definitely don’t know all the drama that went on behind closed doors, though I did spill some of the goss at the Bachelorette Party haha! Will definitely be sharing some of it, as I think it might help others who are planning a wedding, especially an international wedding. Thanks again for being a part of our special day! Miss you both very much!!!
