Thailand: Day 1

August 6, 2012

During my first of two trip’s to Hong Kong this past March, my husband and I visited Thailand as well.  Even though it was just a side trip, it had the potential to be the trip that changed our lives forever (more on that later).  Koh Mak was our main destination, but on our way there we had to overnight in the city of Chanthaburi, as we were arriving too late in the day to make the ferry that would take us to the island.  I had never even heard of Chanthaburi before, thus deciding on where to stay was a bit of a gamble.  I liked the reviews of Maneechan Resort and booked us a suite for less than $100USD.  We really enjoyed our brief stay there and our favorite part was the tropical flower garden, where we spent a long time walking around it, admiring the beauty in front of us, and talking in depth about our future. . .

If there was ever a place to contemplate which path to take in life, this was it.  Which was your favorite flower from the garden?

Love all the flowers – gorgeous photos! I want to explore more of Thailand…we always end up in Bangkok, and I am just not a huge fan of the city for some reason. I’m probably one of the only people who isn’t, I know. LOL I can’t wait to hear more about the potential life-changing aspects of this trip! 🙂

I love all the flowers but I especially like the red ones tinged with green. They sort of look like lobster claws. Looks like a very relaxing resort to spend a little time and a great introduction to your trip.

I always have a soft spot for Lotus Flowers. And Thailand in general, it was the first vacation my husband and I took just the two of us. We didn’t get out of Bangkok, but thats ok, gives us more reason to go back!

Lotus flowers are sooo gorgeous — they are my favorite! Very quintessential Thailand, huh? I love that Thailand was the 1st trip you took with your husband. How romantic!!!

I love the 2nd to last shot as well, the dark pond contrasts so nicely with the pink flower. Are they lotus with the orange and pink, the spikey ones? Just beautiful, as always!
