Banner Elk, North Carolina: Summer

September 29, 2013

Summer feels like its forever away, but as soon as the temperatures really start to drop, we all start dreaming of endlessly long days of fun in the sun and warm and glowing nights where anything feels like it could happen.  Picnics, road trips, walks along the ocean — it is the season that everyone looks forward to.  If you are feeling on the adventurous side, head to Dutch Creek Trails in Banner Elk, North Carolina where gentle horses await you for a thrilling Cowboy-guided ride through the wilderness.  The following photos were taken last year during the summer months:

This post is part four of a four-part series that examines “the seasons in Banner Elk, North Carolina”.  I highly recommend staying at the Banner Elk Winery & Villa if you should find yourself in this part of the High Country no matter what time of the year it is.

  1. Camels & Chocolate

I’m bummed I was in Boone and didn’t get to make it to Banner Elk, but there’s never enough time to do everything is there? I’m obsessed with Blowing Rock and want to make it back there very soon, so I’ll plan enough time to make it to BE, too! How long does it take you to get there from Charlotte (asking should I propose I meet my sister there when she’s back from her fall in NYC)?
