After our intoxicating trip to Sage, I felt like I was floating on a cloud of bliss when we arrived at The Mirage. Little did I know that my day was about to get even better! We had been invited to experience a “mini-show” with Terry Fator and Boyz II Men, both extremely popular performances in Las Vegas at the moment. I assumed there would be hundreds of others in attendance with us, however, there was just a handful of people — making it quite an intimate experience in one of the most famous venues in the world.
I had never seen a ventriloquist live before and now I cannot imagine seeing another one, as I believe Terry and his sidekicks would be an impossible act to follow. I was in awe of his serious talent.
I must admit though that the reason why my heart was beating faster by the second was due to the fact that Boyz II Men were about to come on stage. I was such a huge fan of their music growing up. I can vividly remember coming home from middle school and listening to their love ballads in my room on my cassette player, hoping that one day when I was older I would truly understand the meaning of their lyrics.
While they may have aged from the period when their songs were #1 hits, their talent is still undeniably timeless. Imagine my delight when Nathan Morris walked off stage into the audience, sat in my lap, held my hand to his chest, and sang straight into my eyes “On Bended Knee.” I felt like I could have died from happiness!
After they finished, we were able to mix and mingle with them and Terry for about fifteen minutes. I am certain that I had a smile from ear to ear the entire time.
We had a quick dinner at Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak before seeing the show. While I do not eat meat, I really appreciated the fact that New York Chef Tom Colicchio only cooks with antibiotic-free animals raised by purveyors committed to time-honored farming practices. The glow of the hearth permeates and is also reflected in the Bentel+Bentel design highlighting all of the natural materials found throughout the restaurant.
The Beatles LOVE completely blew me away and was better than I had expected it to be with my already high expectations. If you should find yourself in Las Vegas, this show simply cannot be missed! I then ended the perfect day with my dear friend Abby of Daydream Away at The Cosmopolitan with several cocktails. I was definitely falling in love with Las Vegas!
How cool!! I LOVED Love as well 😉
These posts from Vegas have been great, thanks for sharing!
LOVE is just amazing right? I had goosebumps!
Ahhhhhhmazing! I can’t believe the awesome all-access tours you got, to say nothing of the up close and personal moment with Boyz II Men!
Right??? I had to have someone pinch me to make sure I wasn’t dreaming!
Boyz II Men AND a Tom Colicchio dining experience in one night?! L-O-V-E!! So happy you had this day!
Hahaha pretty safe to say I was on a high for a while…
Awesome! A friend and I are meeting for a long weekend in Vegas in November and I’ll have to check this stuff out!
Yes, you must!!! You’d love it all! 🙂
Very cool that you got to mix with Boyz II Men and saw the Beatles tribute band. I imagine the dude from Boyz II Men wrote on his blog how happy he was to meet the woman behind My Beautiful Adventures :)I know I was.
Hahahaha you always leave the best comments! If he wrote that I think I would die, literally. XO
So cool! Amazing you got such close access to the group– very cool they even sat in your lap 🙂 Sounds like you had the real Las Vegas experience!
Yes, it was so once-in-a-lifetime, I feel like I’m STILL pinching myself! Viva Las Vegas!!!!!
How fun that you got to listen to a group you have such great ties with. 🙂 You look beautiful and so happy, Andi. 🙂
Thank you sweetheart, you’re so kind! 🙂
A backstage tour of a Cirque show would be AMAZING! I just love them
Yeah it was really insightful!
Your life is a dream. 🙂 I saw LOVE five or six years ago, and it was SUCH an incredible sensory experience – I remember when I could even smell incense during one of the songs. A behind-the-scenes tour would be a dream! And Boyz II Men. Sigh.
It sometimes feels like a dream!!! Wasn’t LOVE just beyond amazing..ugh! I want to see it again and again.
Love Boys to Men, fabulous opportunity to meet them and in such an intimate environment. I have seen nearly all the cirque shows, love them. Beatles LOVE holds a special place in my heart as Mr. Misadventures and I saw it the night of our “wedding” we eloped to Vegas.
OMG how on earth did I not know that you eloped in Vegas???????? Love that LOVE holds such a special place in your heart. It holds a special place in my heart now as well. I was in tears towards the end, sooo beautiful!
