My Feature In Four Magazine

March 26, 2014

I never in a million years thought I would be in a magazine, thus imagine my surprise when Four Magazine approached me for a feature story in their Can I Live? issue!  Since the article was mostly about my career as a travel photojournalist and based off of my Ask Andi Anything series, the photo shoot had a travel theme.  I had not one, but two incredibly talented photographers: Angel Butler and Joshua Galloway.  We shot in Freedom Park in Charlotte, North Carolina, which just so happens to be one of my favorite places in my hometown.  For props I used two of my most prized possessions.  The vintage luggage that you see in the photos was found by my best friend in Buenos Aires, Argentina and was used in my wedding.  The vintage camera that you see in the photos was my grandfather’s that he bought somewhere in Germany over half a century ago.

Wow, congratulations! That’s so awesome! And I think my favorite is the final close-up of the “Citizen of the World” passport! Pink, powerful, awesome!

Wow you’re comment totally made my day, thanks from the bottom of my heart! Unfortunately, the spread is not online, as the magazine is not free. Next time you’re in Charlotte I’ll show it to you! <3

I love them all but my favorites are the ones of the open passport with all the stamps and your arms with full with bracelets. I think is the number 12 and 14. Yes, those are my favorites. You look so gorgeous. I am very happy for you. I always enjoy your pictures and your posts. Keep on the great work. =)

All the pictures are gorgeous! My favorite is the last one where you are holding the passport. I don’t know. I get an intense feeling from it. Ohh and moving on into girly things, can you tell me (if it is not too much to ask) where you got your right hand bracelets (not exactly where you got them but the brand or maker). I like that style.

Ooooh I wish I could tell you, but they are like 5 years old and I can’t remember the designer’s name now. Boo! If I can remember it I promise I will let you know. Thanks so much for your kind words!!!

Many congratulations Andi. I must admit that I’ve never heard of this magazine but it is very exciting that you’ve been featured. The professional photographer has also used lighting very well, all the pictures look great.

Great story and great idea about picking all your vintage stuff 🙂
I wonder what the story about your grandfather and the camera is? Was he there during the war? Well I live close to Germany hehe

Thank you so much! Yes, my grandfather lived in Germany during the war, however he was able to escape and join the US military and thus subsequently immigrated to the US afterwards. I will try to find out more details about the camera and maybe do a post!

Woow so many staps in your passport. And they say only 1% of Americans have passport 🙂 Is this is true. I am from EU and it is normal to have a passport here.People travel a lot. Nice photos you made.

No, at least 30-40% of Americans’s have passports. That 1% is definitely a myth! Having said that, I do hope that more Americans start to travel more — it’s just so expensive to fly these days. 🙁 Thank you so much for your kind words!
