Now the family is growing, I have to think a lot harder about gift buying. There are so many wonderful personalities in my extended family. It means everybody likes different things. I am already starting to think about gift buying for the holidays and it is a big list to cover. However, I have found some pretty good gift ideas in my hunt that I wanted to share with you:
eReaders
I love that these have come down in price and gone up in quality. They are more functional than ever, and many can be used like tabs. I have a few people in my family who are true bookworms. They frequently try to give away books they have read because they just do not have space for them. For me, an eReader is going to be a great gift to give, because of how practical it is.
Spa Products
The holidays bring plenty of great hampers and boxes of toiletries. Usually, I prefer to hand pick spa products and create my own basket to give away. I think it means more to the recipient that I have had a real involvement in the gift. It is easy to pick something off the shelf, but buying individually wrapped products looks and feels more special.
Wallets
A leather wallet may be a traditional gift to give, however I still love the idea of it. The presentation box and the smell of new leather certainly stir some Christmas memories in me. I like that products like Shinola wallets are made of leather that ages well. A quality leather wallet can handle the wear and tear of everyday life and still look incredible.

Food Hampers
Just like the spa products, I love to pick and choose some gourmet foods to place in a hamper I can decorate myself. There are plenty of gourmet suppliers of foods that are just right for the season too. Many of them do sell ready-made hampers all packaged up and delivered direct to your gift recipient. This does make it a bit easier, as they can get heavy and bulky.
Wine and Spirits
Some of my friends and family are rather fond of a good drink during the holidays. There are some specialist sellers out there who can offer you presentation boxes of good drinks. Some of them can be quite expensive, although the gift packaging makes for a very special present for somebody.
Toys
There are now a few children to consider in our family. We love giving gifts whenever we see them, but during the holidays, we like to wrap something special up. Most children have a favorite TV character, so I always look out for a soft toy or playset from that show. There is a huge amount on offer at the moment as well. It means you can usually pick one of the more educational editions to give the children.
I love gift giving, even if the gift buying can be a little stressful at times. I am glad I have started early though. There is just so much choice! Enjoy your gift shopping this season.

I saw this was posted in August, but I really need to start thinking about the holidays! I’m going to Curacao for Christmas with my boyfriend’s family, and I’m celebrating with my family before. Definitely need to start saving up! These are some great ideas, I really think I can’t go wrong getting my boyfriend’s mother a spa basket!!
