The best continent, home of five transcontinental countries, straddles the border between America and Asia — Europe. Here are out top five picks for the best European destination 2019: 

  • Paris, France

Paris, city and capital of France, situated in the north-central part of the country, also known as City of Love. Beloved by all of the tourists, Paris is able to provide any kind of experience however, because of its romantic environment, it is a well-known favorite city to travel with your partner.

Montmartre became a famous neighborhood since 1860 and an acclaimed spot for artists meetings. Degas, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec, Monet, Van Gogh and Renoir were attracted by this neighborhood gorgeous landscape and were intrigued with the nocturne life and liberal vibes. Their cabarés, alleyways, staircases, and of course, the iconic Sacré-Coeur Basilic, make the Montmartre a mandatory place to go!   

Enjoy the romantic vibes on the sidewalk of Paris and step by Square Jehan Rictus (Place des Abbesses) to take a picture in front of the Mur des Je T’aime (a wall covered with blue tile where the quote “I love you” is written in 200 different idioms). Personally, I highly recommend you go for a quick kiwi and coconut, an all-natural drink at the Mercat de la Boqueria during the day. One of the best drinks you will surely ever have for only 1€.

  • Vienna, Austria

Austria’s capital is a city full of charm, jazz, history, and elegance, and just like any other destination, Vienna has its own spectacular story to tell. Tourists can enjoy the city by hopping on a tram and getting a glimpse of Vienna’s most monumental buildings as you go around Ringstrasse.

 Consistently ranked as offering the highest quality of life in the world, Vienna entices locals and visitors alike with splendid attractions. Stroll along the park of Schönbrunn Palace or ride rollercoasters in the Wiener Prater. You should certainly pass by St. Stephen’s Cathedral, the main symbol of Vienna. Its construction commenced in the 12th Century and today, it is one of the most important Gothic structures in Austria. 

A city full of History like Vienna, adds the Kunsthistorisches Museum (Art History Museum), built in 1891 near the Imperial Palace. With its vast array of eminent works and the largest Bruegel collection in the world, it is considered one of the most eminent museums in the world and a sure visit for every traveler.

  • Porto, Portugal

The dark horse of this list. A most visit place in Portugal and Europe, being the second largest city of the country after Lisbon and one of the major urban areas of the Iberian Peninsula. Known for its colorful streets and full of personality, considered the best European destination and second-best destination worldwide year after year. 

Anyone who appreciates a good Porto wine cannot miss the wine piers that are by the river in Gaia and enjoy drinking a glass near the Douro Valley. There is no shortage of gardens, medieval palaces, and cathedrals. Besides all this, the cuisine is often referred to as the best in the country. Do not forget to taste the most pleasurable mix of meat inside a beautiful placed sandwich of bread and cheese, topped with a delicious beer-type sauce that is the well-known Francesinha.
