This can happen due to many reasons suchas exposure of the sun harmful UVrays or even due to hormones.  Dark spots are just one form skin pigmentation.

There are some of the most reasons behind the dark spots on the face and body.

  • Hormonal changes

It is main cause for skin pigmentation especially in women. Melasma is a a type of skin pigmentation that occur in the form of dark patches, usually on the checks, forehead. This condition is prevalent after pregnancy.

  • Sun exposure

Exposure of the harmful UV rays of the sun can cause dark spot can appear on the skin. Freckles, sunspots, solar lentigines, or live spots are the mot common type of pigmentation that can be developed due to exposure to the sun.

  • Inflammation

Dark spots may also occur after skin inflammation or injuries to the skin. These can be caused by acne or even eczema.

  • Irritation due to certain products

Sometimes the use of certain product like perfumes or certain hair product can cause skin irritation, causing dark spots to appear on the skin.

  • Diabetes

Diabetes can also cause certain area of skin to produce more melanin, leading to dark spots.

As you can see there a various reason to produce dark spots. Now we have discussed about the treatment of dark spots.

Treatment of dark spots

  • Use home remedies for the treatment of dark spots

  1. Turmeric

Combine two teaspoons of turmeric with curd and besan and make a thick paste out of it.  Apply it on the skin as face pack and wash it with lukewarm water.

  1. Tomato paste

Apply tomato juice on the skin for 20 minutesand then wash off with lukewarm waterto lighten dark spots.

  1. Masoor dal

Soak 50 grams of red lentil overnight in a bowl of water. Then using a blender, create a fine paste. Apply the paste on your face for 20 minutes and wash off with cold water.

  1. Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera gel is a miracle ingredient for all of your skin problems. Apply aloe vera gel or aloe vera juice on your face and leave it 30 minutes before washing it away. You can also leave it on your face overnight.  Rinse off with lukewarm water and apply a toner or moisturizer later on.
