In case you missed my first stop on the island, click here. The next stop on Alicia’s tour was of course more Moai and more views of the ocean. I have never in all of my travels seen waves as big as I saw that day. I did not know whether to focus my attention on the ancient statues or the incredible surf! As previously mentioned, I am not going to provide a lot of commentary, as words fail miserably in describing the treasure that is Easter Island.
Next we were onto the most famous part of the island. . .
Hmmm….I wonder if I can convince Abby to jump over to Easter Island with me when we visit you in Buenos Aires…..
LOVE this my dear, so envious of this particular adventure of yours but also so glad I can live vicariously through someone I adore as much as I adore you!!!
Fabulous scenery! Can understand why no words were needed.
Wow, those waves are incredible. I associate the Moai with Easter Island and not so much the South Pacific, but it so is! Gorgeous photos!
Every post you do stokes my fire for my impending South American trip! Did you see any surfers on those massive waves?
Boy does this post have me longing for warm weather!
Awesome pics!
Awesome! Sure brings back great memories. I sat at that exact same rock next to the toppled moai! And, like you, I was totally captivated by the waves as well. If you’re still on Easter Island, stop by Taverne du Pescheur for some fab seafood (the tuna sashimi is YUM!). The owner, an eccentric Frenchman, is hilarious! ENJOY!
Cheers,
Keith
