Lucas and I love aquariums. Whenever we travel to a new destination — if they have an aquarium — we try our very best to visit. Our favorite is the Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta, where I once had the unforgettable opportunity to dive with whale sharks. We also really enjoyed the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago as well. We were really eager to take our son Joaquín to the brand-new aquarium just outside of Charlotte, SEA LIFE Aquarium, however we wanted to go at the right moment, since it would be an overwhelming experience.
Finally, when he turned eight months old it felt like the perfect age to us. We had no idea how he would react to the aquarium. Would he be scared? Would he be fascinated? We could not wait to find out! When we first entered, he sat quietly in his stroller; his eyes were wide and filled with curiosity and wonderment.
Then all of a sudden he tried to leap from his stroller. He just had to touch the glass!
From then on there was no way we were going to get him back into the stroller. He wanted to be as up close and personal as possible. Re-experiencing life all over again through your child is such an amazing feeling and one of the best parts of parenthood. It is easy to forget how magical life is, but when you see your child overjoyed at things you have become jaded about, you get to fall back in love with life all over again!
When we approached the touchpool station Joaquín did not even hesitate to stick his hand in the water. Oh, how I adore his fearlessness!
Can you guess what his favorite thing at the SEA LIFE Aquarium was? It was just around the corner. . .
Wow, you managed to get some great snaps of the day! He really is fearless! It will be interesting to watch that curiosity grow and develop. 😀
Thank you!!! It was tricky with the lighting, but I’m happy how they came out. Isn’t he fearless? Love it!
Well it looks like he’s a keeper! My parents took my sister and I to aquariums all over the country and we loved them. So glad he took to it like a fish 🙂
He’s definitely a keeper!!! One day the three of us will travel together. 😉 Love the fish pun!
What precious photos! Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Oh my goodness! This is too cute. I hope Joaquin’s curiosity about life continues through his childhood and into his future adult life! The Georgia aquarium is amazing, and another one you should make a trip to is the National Aquarium in Baltimore, Maryland. It’s awe-inspiring!
I definitely think his curiosity about life will continue, because Lucas and I will make sure to foster it! We love the Georgie Aquarium. Didn’t know about the National Aquarium in Baltimore, but we’ll have to make a visit!
