They then pass this information on to medical professionals, who will develop treatment protocols accordingly.

This is a great career choice for those who like puzzles and problem-solving. Epidemiologists often act in a similar manner to police and must collect and analyze evidence in the same way. In making their decisions, epidemiologists are reliant on data, therefore, those with an analytical mind will enjoy the work.

Biostatisticians have to keep up with the latest research developments and analyze the results of said research in order to help inform decisions about public health policy. Biostatisticians work alongside other individuals working in a number of sectors, including nonprofits, corporations, and government departments.

In this role, you will be ensuring that the public, especially the most vulnerable groups, are kept informed of relevant measures that they can take to protect their health. It is also important that people understand the nature of infectious diseases and how to safely administer antibiotics.
