It is known that we live in a world where technologies are evolving very quickly, making our lives easier. Every year, a lot of different devices appear in our life and make a lot of impossible things possible. And one of such things is icing coolers, which are available in different shapes and formats.

We know that there are a lot of products that should be kept in the refrigerator, but when you are going for a picnic, there is no possibility to take such food. However, you can solve this problem with ice boxes and chillers for camping.

The best ice boxes and chillers for camping will keep your products icy and fresh. If you’re going to hike overnight or for a few weeks, you’ll need a cooler or ice bag to keep your food fresh and drinks cold. There are plenty of different coolers that can suit your needs depending on your lifestyle, eating habits, and personal preferences – camping coolers review.

There are two types of coolers: thermo bags and thermo containers.

The thermo bag can hold up to 50 litres and weighs from 400 grams to 6 kilograms. Small bags with the weight of 400 g are able to carry several cans of carbonated water, and large, with a weight of 4.5 kg, can hold up to 17 kg of food.

At a moderate ambient temperature, the thermo bag keeps the food cold for 4-5 hours. And if you use batteries for cooling, the time of effective work will be increased to 12 hours, the average life of 5 years.

Thermal containers differ from thermo bags with a larger capacity: from 1 to 180 liters. Cold storage time in the thermal container is up to 12 hours and up to 24 hours (if cold batteries are used together with the container).

Another type of a cooler that provides a relatively mobile coolness is the car cooler. However, this type of refrigerator is divided into three subtypes: thermoelectric, absorption and even compressor devices.

Let’s start with thermoelectric specimens. Actually, these are not exactly coolers in its classical meaning. The design does not provide for a compressor, even a refrigerant, without which it is difficult to imagine a modern refrigerator. Cooling here is “managed” by two-sided thermoelectric plates. When electric current flows through them, the inner side of the plate cools down and it cools down the chamber with the products. If you change the voltage polarity, the inner side of the plate will heat up, while the outer side will cool down. Therefore, as most people have already guessed, these devices can not only cool down, but even heat food (up to 65 °C). It is incredibly convenient, by the way. First, you can cool drinks, and then slightly heat up breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Another advantage of the thermoelectric car cooler is its unlimited operating time, of course, only in the presence of a power source. In a car, the device is able to function “from a cigarette lighter”, and in other conditions – from a stationary network (you need a current converter). However, this is its advantage, in fact, and there is a major disadvantage – energy dependence: the refrigerator is “tied” to a car or an outlet in the room.

Form-factors in which thermoelectric car coolers are produced are quite diverse. The device can be made in the form of a small box, built into a special niche in the car or in a small locker, a “nightstand”.
