Get Insurance

When you are running a business from your own home, it is even more important that you get insurance. If you are going to have clients at your home, for example,  you need to ensure that your home business is insured for public liability, and you need to ensure that running a business will not invalidate any home insurance policies you already have. Sort this stuff out straight away to avoid any financial disasters in the future.

Get A Virtual Address

If you do not need to give out your actual address, because you will not be having clients over to your home, it may be a good idea to use a website like physicaladdress.com to get your own virtual address that you can put on your website/documents. This will enable you to maintain your privacy while giving your business a more professional mailing address that will instill confidence.

Hire An Accountant

Okay, so if you are just starting out and your turnover is really low, you may be able to get away with using one of the accountancy software packages at https://financesonline.com, but once your business begins to grow, you will need an accountant. Yes, they cost money, but their advice is likely to be much more valuable to you than their fee, especially if it stops you from falling foul of the local tax laws.

Get Rid Of Distractions

Running any business is tough, running a business from home where there is the TV, your kids, the pets and a million other distractions to get in the way can be harder. Physically removing distractions or setting yourself up in an office on the far side of the property away from the action, but make sure you do something or you may find yourself becoming less and less motivated.
