If you have a trip coming up, you are probably starting to work on making a list of all the items you want to pack. Being prepared for a trip is always important; you do not want to get to your destination and realize that you do not have something you need. There several essential items you will always want to have packed in your bag regardless of whether you are heading to the beach, hitting the mountains for skiing, or traveling to a big city for a business convention. We have put together a list of five clothing items you should pack in your bag for every trip you take:
Socks And Underwear
Socks and underwear may seem obvious, but you would be surprised at how many people forget to put these essentials in their bags. Having clean pairs of underwear and socks to put on each day will help keep you comfortable and is a much more hygienic option than the alternative.
You should always toss a few more pairs in your suitcase than you think you will end up needing. You never know what will happen, and you want to make sure you are prepared in case your socks get drenched in a rainstorm, or you need a mid-day shower and want to freshen up your underwear.
Sweater
A cozy sweater is another item that should be on your packing list. Even if you are heading to Florida in July, you may find that you get a bit chilly in the air conditioning. Bringing a comfy plus size sweater for chilly nights or in cold air-conditioned spaces is a great idea.
There may be other times during your trip that you decide you would like an additional layer as well. If the weather changes, and you end up getting rain and wind one day instead of sun, you will appreciate having a warm sweater with you.
Comfortable Shoes
Comfortable and stylish techwear shoes are a must for any trip. If you are only traveling for business meetings, you may think you do not need comfortable shoes, but do not forget about walking through the airport, getting to the hotel, or heading out to dinner after your meetings are done for the day.
Nice Outfit
Bring along at least one nice outfit on every trip. This way, you will always be prepared if your plans change or you decide to go to a restaurant with a dress code. Keep the weather in mind as you plan your outfit to determine if you want something with short sleeves or long sleeves. You may also want to look at a few restaurants you may wish to visit to find more specific information about their dress code.
Rain Jacket
Finally, do not forget a rain jacket with a hood. If it happens to rain, you will be thrilled to have a jacket to keep you dry and presentable. Rain jackets can also double as a lightweight windbreaker, which may also prove to be an asset on your trip.
If you are worried about space in your suitcase, there are even rain jackets that fold up into a little pouch or bag for very compact transport. You could even stick the jacket in your briefcase or purse to have with you at all times.
These five essentials should serve as the foundation for a packing list for any trip you will take. Add on to your list with other items you will need based on where you will be heading and your reason for travel.
