Banner Elk, North Carolina: Spring

September 26, 2013

After enduring months of cold weather and endless days without sunshine, the only thing that is on anyone’s mind is the arrival of spring.  What better place to celebrate brighter skies, blooming flowers, and the feeling of grass between your toes than in the North Carolina town of Banner Elk?  A relaxing road trip through the Blue Ridge Mountains will transport you to this perfect spring break destination.  When I visited Banner Elk for the first time it was the height of spring.  One of the things that struck me immediately were the gorgeous array of flowers that I saw.  The following photos were taken last year during the spring months:

This post is part three of a four-part series that examines “the seasons in Banner Elk, North Carolina”.  I highly recommend staying at the Banner Elk Winery & Villa if you should find yourself in this part of the High Country no matter what time of the year it is.

These are such beautiful photos. I absolutely LOVE Banner Elk Winery. I stayed at the winery for a friend’s wedding and it was VERY hard to leave! Pure luxury in the mountains!
