Almost every day I am asked interesting questions from all over the world and I thought I would start sharing my responses to them, along with travel related giveaways. I love questions, thus please feel free to ask me anything in the comments or send me a private message if you prefer.
Q31. What does you husband do for work by the way?
A31. Lucas is a Jack of all trades. By day he runs my father’s sports memorabilia business, Joe DiMaggio Estate, and attends the local university where he is studying International Business and by night he is a waiter. This is a big change from his life in Buenos Aires, where he was a Secret Service Agent for the President of Argentina and in school for Law. He loves it though and has huge dreams for his future!
Q32. I have a question for you: where can one find delicious Argentinian products, such as Havanettes, in the States?
A32. I am so sorry to disappoint you, but I have yet to find a good store or website in the States that carries Argentinean products. We usually bring back a suitcase or two full of stuff that we ration out until the next trip. When we do run out of alfajores, I will purchase some homemade ones from Etsy to satisfy our cravings, but they are usually very expensive. If any readers know of a good store or website please leave a comment below.
Q33. By the way, I am wondering where you are living: I always just kind of assumed that you and your husband were living in Argentina, but apparently I am wrong.
A33. We are living in Charlotte, North Carolina (my hometown). We travel to Buenos Aires about once or twice a year. Our next trip is this December/January for the holidays. We are so excited about this one in particular, because Lucas’ eldest brother and his wife are having the first grandchild (a daughter and she will be named Maria de los Ángeles) in the family in a couple of weeks and we cannot wait to meet her!
Q34. A great Ask Andi question would be what is your favorite photograph of you ever taken on your travels and what is your favorite photograph to have ever taken on your travels.
A34. This question had me thinking for a really long time! I believe my favorite photograph ever taken of me on my travels has to be the one my guide took of me next to the Moai on Easter Island. You can see pure joy and happiness radiating from my face, because it was such a special moment for me. I was visiting one of the most remote places in the world — a destination I had dreamed about since I was a child — and it was my last solo trip as a single woman before I was married.
Q35. So, if you could name one hotel, what is your favorite you have stayed in?
A35. The Upper House in Hong Kong is my favorite hotel in the world. In 2012, I was fortunate enough to stay there twice and both times my heart ached when I had to check out. I have yet to visit another hotel that even comes close to its level of luxury. You can see my video review of the hotel here.

Hi! I’ve never commented before, but I just wanted to let you know I love your blog! Travel blogs are my favorite to read, but I’m always intimidated to interact on expat blogs because it’s not my personal lifestyle. I would one day love to travel as much as you while still having a career. Plus, my boyfriend and I have been long distance for several years (although both in CA and much MUCH closer by) so it’s always fun to read the ask andi anything posts! Sorry if this comment is a little creepy, but I figured people like to hear positive comments:)
Woah you look SO gorgeous in that photo Andi!
That picture you took in Brazil is on my fridge – I often wonder where you’re at when I open it for a snack! I’ve also always wondered what the mariito does for a living!
Wow to travel to Easter Island must have been amazing? What’s the most exotic place you’ve ever traveled to?
Such a cool design! Thanks for sharing.
Happy travels 🙂
Lucas is a granadero???!?!?! How cool is that!!! In my opinion that´s the top thing in the army!!!! You once told me he was in the army but I would have never guessed he was a granadero!!!! I´m loving it!!!
Lovely cards!! I have also wondered what Lucas did 🙂 thanks for sharing!
I love that pic of you on Easter Island.. We have that in common as a very special place, don’t we? 🙂
I loved learning about Lucas too… checked out that post of him protecting the president. I thought you were kidding when you linked up to it, but nope! There he is! SO cool!!!
BEAUTIFUL Easter Island picture! I haven’t been there yet but I’ve dreamed of it for quite a while 🙂
I love your Ask Andi series! I also love that of all of the gorgeous professional photos that’ve been taken of you over the years, your favorite is one your guide took on a most memorable trip. That’s definitely telling of your true spirit! (I actually just placed an order for business cards with Signazon to review on my site! What a coincidence!)
Wow, that sunset photo is unreal! And how cool about your husband’s job in Argentina, just amazing!
Love the photo of you and the Moai 🙂

The sunset photograph is Gorgeous! Interesting questions and an interesting idea for the posts.
Love the Easter Island photo – I’ve always wanted to go there – the statues are so mysterious.
I never get tired of those secret service photos of Lucas, haha – so stoic! =)
I’d like to know what do you shoot your photographs with. I love your pictures.

I just learned so much about you – so cool! Excited for your trip to Argentina for you. I love the photos too by the way 🙂
Ahhh Easter Island!!! What a lucky girl!!! I’m hoping you have a full post on that location because my husband and I researched a trip down to the last cent a few years ago [you should have seen the spreadsheets] but decided on Greece instead. Yet Easter Island is always looming in the back of our minds. Love your reader questions series, by the way!
