Our home is our castle, which is why we love updating it and making it feel like a truly special place to be. As you know, we have been updating our home in stages and although there are already some stunning elements, which make our home feel luxurious, I think more could be done to make it a place fit for a King and, of course, a Queen!
Real Wood Floors
No other type of flooring can make a room look as luxurious as real wood. A varnished oak floor decorated with a thick pile rug gives a sense of grandeur to a space and although it can be expensive, is a worthwhile investment.
King-Sized Beds
If your home, like ours, is your castle, then only a king-sized bed frame will do. A vast bed exudes luxury and will become the striking centrepiece of any large bedroom. Reputable companies like Bedstar give you the opportunity to live like a super-king with their extensive range of beautiful king-sized beds. Once you have chosen you perfect bed, make sure you treat yourself to an assortment of beautiful bed covers, throws, and cushions to accomplish a truly regal finish.
Plump Cushions
Huge, over-sized cushions will make you never want to leave your sofa. Think ‘the plumper the better’ when it comes to sofa cushions, as smaller versions will not look as luxurious or high-end.
Chandeliers
There are so many amazing contemporary chandeliers available, that you are certain to find one to suit your tastes. Make your dining area seem like a table at an exclusive restaurant by selecting a low-hanging modern chandelier fitted centrally over your table.
Black Interior Doors
One way to make a room feel more luxurious and expensive is by painting interior doors black. This is also an excellent option for those on a budget, as a lick of paint is all you need to transform a room from drab to fab. Striking dark door panels are unusual to find inside a house, which makes them feel even more exclusive when you have them in your own home.
Statement Mirrors
Mirrors not only make a space look larger, but by selecting a gigantic, unusually shaped mirror to adorn your wall you will add a definite touch of opulence to your home. Stick to only one large mirror in each room as any more than this could make a room look gaudy.
I would love to hear if you have any tips of your own and if you have any items in your home that have made it feel like your very own palace. Please leave a comment below!
