I have always loved traditions and when I gave birth to my son I knew that I wanted to impart on him the special and meaningful traditions that I grew up with, however I also wanted to create new ones that were unique to our little family of three. I had never in my life made a Gingerbread House before (even though I had always wanted to) and thought that it might be a fun Christmas tradition for to start this year. We used a Gingerbread Mini Village kit from Create A Treat that I highly recommend to anyone who is just starting out, because it could not have been easier to use. This kit includes everything you need to make five mini buildings, including: pre-baked cookies, white icing, and an assortment of festive candy such as rainbow sprinkles, jellies, and multi-colored candy beads. The following are the photos I took from the afternoon we created our Gingerbread Village. We were all wearing our pajamas and listening to Christmas music. It was simply magical! I definitely think we will be doing this every year from now on.
