New Year, New Cleaning Habits

February 15, 2020

Do you believe in New Years Resolutions? Even if you don’t, the fresh start of a new year may motivate you to make some positive changes in your life. If keeping your home cleaner is on your list, continue reading and see how you can improve your cleaning habits!

Put Clothes Away

Although it may be tempting to leave your clothing on the floor, don’t do it! Avoid the “floordrobe” and put your clothes away. It simplifies your life and saves you time from having to sort through the clothes you left on the floor. When you’re in a rush and need to find your favourite coat, organized clothes will help keep you on time.

If your closet or dresser looks like it’s about to burst, storage boxes or shelf organizers are options for storing the clothing you don’t wear every day. Also, an overflowing wordrobe might mean it’s time to go through your clothes and donate what you no longer need.

Vacuum Regularly

Carpets and floors are home to multitudes of dust, pet hair, and bacteria. Vacuuming a few times a week makes maintaining carpets and floors much more manageable. If you’re too busy and don’t have time in your schedule, contact a local cleaning company that will vacuum, dust, or do any other cleaning task you require. Many companies will be able to offer a deep clean using professional wet carpet cleaning equipment.

Keep a Clean Fridge

Yes, I know it’s tedious. But if you don’t clean your fridge, grime and bacteria will build up, and you don’t want that around your food. Plus, if you clean your fridge regularly, you’ll always know what you need from the grocery store!

If you’d rather leave it to the professionals, all our cleaners have the bacteria-killing cleaning equipment to make your fridge look as clean as it did the day you bought it.

Clean While You Cook

After cooking a delicious meal, you may be excited to tuck in and enjoy the fruit of your culinary labors, but cleaning as you go can help keep your surfaces clean from bacteria and stubborn stains. Finished using the cutting board? Wash it. No longer in need of the measuring cup? Put it in the dishwasher. Cleaning as you go is an easy way to keep your kitchen cleaner.

As a bonus, you won’t have as many dishes to wash after you’ve eaten! Since you washed all your pots and pans earlier, all you have to do is wash the dishes you ate with. Then you can continue with your evening knowing that you have a clean, bacteria-free kitchen.

Make Your Bed Every Day

If you have a bedroom that is messy, disorganised, and unkempt, making your bed is a good place to start. A made makes a world of difference when it comes to making your room neater. Making your bed after getting up helps keep you on track with maintaining the cleanliness of your room, and also helps put you in a good mindset. It’s also a good idea to make sure you change your sheets regularly. Clean sheets can help you sleep better and enjoy your cosy bedroom more.
