Team building activities and games are supposed to be not only enjoyable but also have many advantages. These are fun and creative ways that help people get to know each other. Team building activities encourage them to learn and communicate with each other. Communication will allow them to understand how each person thinks, works, and solve problems. Now we have even games to play on zoom with coworkers to motivate them for team work. Here we have some games that your team will want to play.

Scavenger Hunt

A scavenger hunt is a great team bonding game that helps your team to collaborate.

How to play: First you have to make two or more teams. Make a list of tasks for each group. It can include finding some hidden miscellaneous objects, taking a picture of a building or taking a selfie with a stranger, etc. Give the list to each team and make a deadline. Who completes the task first will be the winner.

MineField

This game focuses on trust, communication, and listening skills. It helps people to improve their ability to work together under pressure.

How to play: This game’s goal is to guide a blindfolded person to a certain point or a hidden object. Divide the teams into small groups or pair them up, then blindfold one person from each team or pair. The other person leads their teammate using verbal instruction. The blindfolded person cannot speak at all. To make the game more exciting and challenging, create some specific routes that the blindfolded members must walkthrough.

Escape rooms are the best way to test and know about yourself how well you manage, think under stressful conditions, and work together.

You can transform one of your rooms by plant clues and other small activities throughout the room. Board Games

These games help to learn social skills as  turn-taking, sharing. These games also help learn how making gossip,  problem-solution, agree, come together, and being easily bent. Board games are of three types: war, race games.

In a war game, the goal is to destroy your component. Chess is an example of a board war game.

Race games include many players, and they must reach the goal . Snakes and Ladders and monopoly are race games.

Alignment games require players place a specific configuration. Players need to strategically place the pieces  a board for  their goal.

Barter Puzzle Games

These games are a mental workout that improves your problem-solving skills and attention span. Doing a puzzle reinforces the connections between brain cells. It improves mental speed and is an effective way to improve short-term memory. It is also an excellent meditation tool and stress reliever. 

How to play:

  1. Make small, equal member groups.
  2. Find some jigsaw puzzles that are challenging but not impossible.
  3. Give each group a puzzle with the same difficulty level.

The goal is to solve the puzzle faster than another group. You can mix some pieces in other groups’ jigsaw or hide them to spice up the game. It is up to the teams to get those pieces back to complete the puzzle either through trading, negotiating, or split their team members so that some members find the hidden parts and others solve the puzzle. Whatever they decide to do, they must complete the puzzle faster.
