What Is Golden Triangle Tour of India and why its famous?

November 6, 2022

India’s most well-liked tourist route is the Golden Triangle, and for good reason. Three cities—Delhi, Jaipur, and Agra—capture your attention and transport you to the enthralling, decadent, and passionate world of the Mughals and maharajas. The Qutab Minar in Delhi, the Amber Fort in Jaipur, and, of course, the Taj Mahal in Agra are just a few examples of the best architecture they left behind. Here is how to see the Golden Triangle’s highlights, even if you only have five days.

From Ancient to Modern-Day Delhi

For good reason, Delhi is where the majority of Golden Triangle tour of India begin, and for good reason—the nation’s capital is breathtaking. You don’t have time to waste if you’re only staying in Delhi for a couple of days, so head straight to Chandni Chowk. This market, which Shah Jahan established as the hub of Old Delhi in 1650 AD, is still among the most energetic areas of the city. A lane known for selling any type of parantha you want can be found among the stalls selling spices with every imaginable scent, clothing, electronics, and other goods that line the narrow alleyways. A visit to Chandni Chowk will make you feel genuinely alive!

After a delicious lunch at Karim’s, which is renowned for its mouthwatering kebabs, visit the magnificent Red Fort, or Lal Qila. This magnificent example of Mughal architecture, which was constructed on the Yamuna’s banks, has a wall that stretches for more than two kilometers. Previously, precious stones of every color were used to adorn the palace walls and public spaces. Close your eyes and imagine how shiny these walls used to be.

The Jama Masjid, the biggest mosque in India with a capacity of 25,000 people, is close by. Although the site is enormous on its own, the stunning combination of finely carved red sandstone and white marble elevates it to extraordinary status. View the Red Fort in the distance as you stroll through the courtyard. To get the best view of Old Delhi, climb the minaret’s confined spiral staircase.

If you still have time, visit Raj Ghat, where Mahatma Gandhi was cremated. Return to Red Fort in the evening to see the renowned Sound and Light Show.

The following morning, leave early for Mehrauli, where the Qutab Minar complex is located. It’s amazing to see this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The miner’s upward reach toward the sky almost defies explanation. The building of this 72-meter-tall structure got underway in 1193 A.D. A few Mughal tombs and a more than 2,000-year-old iron pillar are also located in the same complex. Scientists are still baffled by the pillar’s construction as they are awed by how precisely it was cast.

After a quick break and a picnic in the Lodhi Gardens, return to Delhi. Visit Humayun’s Tomb, one of Delhi’s most stunning structures, from there. This is a sight not to be missed because it is surrounded by expansive gardens and has intricate star carvings.

Visit India Gate in the evening to see it lit up in all its splendor as night falls. Chaat is another option for a snack while you take in the carnival atmosphere.

The Incredible Taj Mahal

Get up early the following morning to drive to Agra. En route, visit Fatehpur Sikri, a historic fortified city that served as the Mughal Empire’s capital. The fort, which includes residences for Emperor Akbar’s Muslim, Hindu, and Christian wives as well as a magnificent masjid, offers a window into his life. Before moving on to Agra, take your time and explore this city.

The Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, is naturally located in Agra. In-person, this famous structure is simply breathtaking. This will undoubtedly be the high point of your trip to the Golden Triangle because it was constructed by Shah Jahan as a memorial to his beloved wife Mumtaz.

Visit the Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his ruthless son Aurangzeb, after exploring the Taj Mahal’s grounds. He would look across the river at the Taj Mahal from this location and think of his lovely Mumtaz. In the opulent Oberoi Amarvilas’s Esphahan Restaurant in the evening, dine under the stars like an emperor.

The Pink City of Jaipur Awaits

Early in the morning, your journey to Jaipur’s Pink City begins. The Old City in Jaipur is the ideal starting point once you arrive. The Hawa Mahal is a famous structure that conceals many mysteries about the women who once resided there. The women had access to the tiny windows, or jharokhas, through which they could sneakily observe activities outside their palace. As you stroll through the Hawa Mahal’s halls, you can almost hear them talking in whispers and laughing together.

The City Palace, which is close by, expertly combines Mughal and Rajasthani designs. The City Palace will provide you with a glimpse into the opulent world of the maharajas, with its brightly painted Pitam Niwas Courtyard and reliefs that depict each season. If you have enough time, you can also visit Jantar Mantar, which has a collection of some of the most fascinating scientific instruments. Don’t overlook the sundial with a gnomon that is 27 meters high.

Drive to Amber the following morning at the crack of dawn. Amber, the former capital, is located 11 kilometers from Jaipur. Maharaja Man Singh erected this golden fort in 1592, and it still bears traces of the magnificent mirrorwork and paintings that once decorated it. Although you can climb the stairs to the fort, riding an elephant is the most elegant way to travel there. You can see the hills and surrounding area from the top of this magnificent beast. Before returning to Jaipur, take your time to explore this fascinating ancient city and the town that lies behind the fort. Spend some time shopping in Jaipur; it is well known for its ethnic handicrafts, silver jewelry, and nearby-polished semi-precious stones.

You will be ready to return to Delhi in the morning. Even though it has only been four days since your departure, the Golden Triangle unquestionably transforms everyone who travels there.

Conclusion

No collection of words or list of poetic adjectives can adequately convey the circuit’s beauty. The best way to convey what cannot be expressed in words is through vision. It’s time to reserve your preferred tour package and travel like a royal. Tour packages for the Golden Triangle are available from the Grand Indian Route.
