Dominican Republic: Day 2 (Part 3)

July 8, 2011

While I will always reserve a special place in my heart for our friends of the water — I was after all probably a sea horse or angel fish in a past life — I was still very excited to visit the Aviary Park in Ocean World in Puerto Plata.

The second I walked into the Love Birds cage a group of them flew over to me and showered me with what else but love!

They were such gorgeous little creatures that I could not get enough of and for the second time of the day I got kissed.

I could have stayed there playing with them for hours, but it was time to see the next exhibit.  First, we walked through a rain forest that briefly transported me back to the Amazon.

The next stop, the iguanas, was the newest exhibit at Ocean World.

Again, I was so surprised at how friendly, like all of the animals I had encountered thus far, they were.  Sadly, there were no kisses from them, but I need not fear as more kisses were right around the corner. . .

Love! It always weirds me out a little at first when I have birds sit on my shoulder or something like that, but then I relax 🙂

Haha the sitting on my shoulder part wasn’t too weird, when it wouldn’t leave the top of my head that’s when it was creeping me out a bit, but the kisses were sweet!!!
