Five Years Of Love

In honor of our 5th anniversary on May 14th, I thought I would share my five favorite photos from our wedding, which was held at Faena Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was probably the most stressful day of my life (minus the day I gave birth), but it was also a dream-come-true and I would not have changed a thing!

We decided to leave our son with my parents and escape to a romantic luxury inn in the mountains of North Carolina named Half Mile Farm to celebrate. It is not every day that you meet your soulmate on the other side of the world and the fairytale comes true. I remind myself this often, as parenting can definitely get in the way, even in the best of marriages. We are determined to not let our sparkle dull, so even though it is going to be painful to leave Joaquín for a couple of days, we know it is exactly what our marriage needs and deserves. Thus, do not be surprised if you do not hear from me for a while, as one of my anniversary presents to Lucas is my full attention.

Cheers to five years and a lifetime of love. . .

Lucas and I wrote our own vows to each other, which we said in both English and Spanish. This moment was when he was reading his to me. I closed my eyes for just a second to take in every beautiful word. To see our vows click here.

This is probably my favorite photo from our wedding. It was the kiss that sealed the deal! I love how you can see the rose petals our friends and family were throwing on us and the intense passion we were feeling was captured perfectly. To see more about the ceremony click here.

After the ceremony, Lucas and I quickly escaped to one of our favorite places in Buenos Aires, La Puente de la Mujer. The iconic bridge is shaped to look like a woman who is being dipped while dancing the tango. We thought it would make an incredible backdrop for our wedding pictures. On our way back to the wedding reception, our photographer spotted the word LOVE from our taxi. She made the driver pull over quickly, so that we could get this shot. Talk about being in the right place at the right time!

Honestly, I do not know why I love this photo, other than I think my husband looks super sexy and it reminds me of how young and in love we were are! The picture was taken in our gorgeous suite at Faena.

I cannot believe that it has already been five years since we said “I do” and yet I think we have accomplished so much together. We have created businesses, traveled the world, had a baby, bought a house. What will the next fiver years hold for us I wonder?
