I love it when my expectations blow me away, which recently happened at The Carolina Renaissance Festival this past weekend.
Our family recently went for the first time together. You can see all of my Instagram photos here. The festival offers a lot of shows to enjoy that are scheduled throughout the day. Make sure you leave enough time, so that you can see as many as possible.
The people watching at the festival is equally as awesome, since you see creative costumes everywhere — costumes that you can tell people put their heart and soul into! Some people are part of the festival, others just really enjoy an excuse to dress up.
There are shops where you can buy just about anything you can think of. The festival is an excellent way to learn more about a culture and time period that can only be found in books and movies. It also has a large selection of vendors who have various drinks, fun foods like giant turkey legs, delicious desserts, and lots of space where you can relax while enjoying music.
There are arts and crafts, games, and rides, and so much more. Time travel to the greatest party since Camelot!
First introduced in 1994 with six acres of exhibits, attractions and entertainment, the event has grown into a 22-acre theme park. The Renaissance Festival is a 16th Century European-style art and entertainment festival combining outdoor theater, circus entertainment, marketplace, jousting tournament, and a feast fit for royalty. There is free parking, it is open rain or shine, and no pets are allowed. Dates, more information, and ticket prices can be found here.
