Location

Situated on a quarter-mile stretch of serene Atlantic shoreline, the resort is just minutes from the destination’s most popular attractions, including more than 100 world-class golf courses and neighbors the Myrtle Beach State Park. I have spent every single Thanksgiving and summer in Myrtle Beach for the last thirty years, so I could easily say it is my “second home.” The property’s central location puts guests just minutes from the Myrtle Beach International Airport.

The Room

The DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Myrtle Beach Oceanfront offers modern and comfortable accommodations no matter if you are staying in a guest room or a suite. Since there were three of us, we opted for a suite with an adjoining room.

Located in the resort’s Live Oak and Palmetto Towers, all 452 redesigned ocean front guest rooms feature 40-inch HD TVs, DoubleTree’s signature Sweet Dreams® bedding, a mini-refrigerator, a microwave, wifi, and a private balcony with outdoor seating. Outfitted with new ebony wood furnishings, the rooms are dressed in a fresh palette of ocean blues and cool grey, creating a contemporary coastal design with clean lines and practical appeal. I love how hotels are beginning to cater to family travel more and more.

The Bathroom

Refresh in the bathroom with granite vanities, plush towels, a hairdryer, and indulgent bath products. Since we travel with a child, a bathtub is a necessity and the hotel certainly came through on that request. It was the perfect way to end each night for our son.

The Extras

When you first walk into the resort you are greeted by this chic lounge named Ocean Blue Lounge. I was so impressed with the decor, that I wanted to skip check-in and order the drink-of-the-day. Unfortunately, those days are over when you have a curious child to look after, but I was truly taken aback by the renovations that had been done. It fits my style perfectly. From a bourbon and rum-centric bar, the lounge features carefully crafted cocktails with fresh ingredients, as well as light bites and traditional appetizers.

On the other hand, if you wanted to have a lovely sit-down dining experience you have the adjacent Ocean Blue Restaurant, which is influenced by the rich culinary heritage of the South Atlantic states. Guests will enjoy comfort foods such as buttermilk fried chicken and slow-grilled BBQ ribs, as well as seasonal seafood and grilled meats — all set against a casual beachfront setting. A buffet breakfast (closes at 11AM), lunch, and dinner are served their on a daily basis.

Last, but not least, you have the The Market. A grab and go convenience, located inside the main building with bakery items for breakfast and all-day treats; breakfast, cold and hot sandwiches; salads; pizzas and staples such as fruit, chips, and drinks. If you do not want to waste one second away for the sun — this is where you need to get go!

Once you are properly satiated, you will find beautiful landscapes and a wealth of resort activities at this pet-friendly hotel. The Palmetto Building has a fitness center with free weights and cardio equipment. They also offer outdoor pools, heated indoor pools, and two lazy rivers. The resort has 35,000 square ft. of meeting space, including three ballrooms accommodating 500 guests each. Let their friendly event planners oversee your beachfront party, wedding, or conference.

Why It Is Andi’s Pick

DoubleTree Resort By Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront

For non-stop family summer fun, the resort has got serious game — from unlimited 18-hole mini-golf and oversized yard games such as Connect Four, Jenga, and Chess, to oceanfront volleyball, bocce ball, and corn hole, there is something for guests of all ages. From June through August, tailor-made activities from the resort’s recreation department also include a range of exciting explorations, including shark tooth hunts, creative crafts, dive-in movie nights, and even beach clean-ups and other activities designed to give back to the community. My son was obsessed with the mini-golf and we ended up spending most of our time playing it instead of at the beach. I must admit, this is one of the best hotel amenities I have ever come across before. I left our stay incredibly impressed and hope more families realize what a gem this property is!

The view of the resort is stunning. Once everything goes back to normal, I will visit this place. I bookmarked it and use this article as my guide. Thank you very much.
